I'm looking for some good science fiction and fantasy series for the summer.

For science fiction, I'm looking for novels in the cyberpunk, space opera, apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic and the military science fiction subgenres.

For fantasy, I'm interested in the dark fantasy, sword and sorcery and the epic/high fantasy subgenres.

For number 1: Metroid prime
For number 2: Trine 2

I'm looking for books, not games.

and for number 2: The last mortal bond.
I, at the very least liked them

Science fiction :any Isaac Assimov book
Fantasy: Lord of the Rings series

For science fiction I'd say perhaps the Eisenhorn series. Or perhaps the original Starship Troopers.
As for fantasy, I don't really know.
