Sounds like a fun idea. I'm in. Or at least I would be if I didn't have loads of work to be doing tonight and tomorrow. If you do play, I'll try to keep up, but I probably won't be as involved as I'd like to be. Sorry about that.

Just one question: How will the dice rolls work? Will we all roll ourselves and report the outcome, or will one person roll for each of us?

@Citation
Normally I'd be saying no to roleplaying too, but since it's in a game setting I'm making an exception.

We will use an online dice rolling service www.dicelog.com being the one I use most and roll there.

But if RandomMan or another mod says I can't start a game thread in the Just For Fun forums, I'll have to drop the idea. It's too big to fit this thread.

@CitationNeeded:

It's not random roleplaying. It's a more structured game. You manage resources of Equestria and shit like that.

Think of it as a choose-your-own-adventure style of Sid Meier's Civilization.

EDIT: THE PAGE GET GODS SUPPORT MY QUEST!

Bronies….it is now time for….

CELESTIA QUEST!

We are now roleplaying the Princess of the mighty nation of Equestria as she faces trials and tribulations concerning economics, foreign relations, hideous monsters and her own student.

Using the magic of online dice throwing, we all throw 100 sided dice and the highest one will determine Celestia's choices in whatever scenario I throw at her.

The first person to use Molestia or Trollestia as a roleplaying choice will get kicked out of the game!

So fellow bronies, are you guys interested in playing? I can start a thread on the Just for Fun forum (though I don't know if we're allowed to have ponies outside the pony thread. RandomMan, can you give me some clarification on that?)

I might be better to keep it here.

If you take it out, flamewars and derails are inevitable.

You can give it a shot if you want. Not everyone will join you, which keeps it from becoming too big. Besides, this is something completely different from "taking over the world". And the forum can use some variation.

-

Edit: Does anyone have that gif of Pinkie Pie (as someone) slamming open the door which was posted a while back. Muumi's post on the previous page gave me a nice idea.

Yeah, I really hope they give her another episode of her own. Her episodes are always good.

Pretty much. All I can do is hope that the next synopsis mentions Fluttershy whenever it pops up.

I'll try running the game here. If my calculations are correct, It might be too big and I'll be forced to start a thread in the Just For Fun Forum.

I suck at drawing! Mummi give me your drawing powers so I can make good pics of Ric! D:
And so I can draw other OC's as well. :l
Maybe I could start a drawing tumblr if I had better skills. D:<
On top of that I never cared to draw as much till now…

ಠ_ಠ This was the first episode without Twilight.

I like the shows theme of Twi being in ever episode. But now she probably won't because now they all have to report to the Princess… I miss her already.

I'm going to try tables. Stand back:

(Also, guys, I think M. A. Larson is Mitch Larson. According to IMDb, he's wrote for one episode of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, a few episodes of Sym-Bionic Titan, Kick Buttowski, and My Gym Partner's a Monkey.)

Writer (in order of episode airing) Episodes Written (according to Wikipedia) My Rank ("1" being Most Favorite writer)
Lauren Faust Mare in the Moon, Elements of Harmony, The Ticket Master (co-writer) 7
Amy Keating Rogers The Ticket Master (co-writer), Applebuck Season, Bridle Gossip, Fall Weather Friends, A Dog and Pony Show, Best Night Ever 1
Cindy Morrow Griffon the Brush-Off, Winter Wrap-Up, The Show Stoppers, Owl's Well that Ends Well, Sisterhooves Social 5
Chris Savino The Stare Master 8
Meghan McCarthy Dragonshy, Call of the Cutie, Green Isn't Your Color, Party of One, Lesson Zero 3
Charlotte Fullerton Look Before You Sleep, Suited for Success, A Bird in the Hoof 6
(That Dude) M. A. Larson Swarm of the Century, Sonic Rainboom, Cutie Mark Chronicles, Return of Harmony Parts 1 and 2, Luna Eclipsed 4
(My Dude) Dave Polsky Feeling Pinkie Keen, Over a Barrel 2

I think Gigatoast did a great job in explaining who the writers are outside of FiM, so I won't have to. I'd talk about the actual writing as opposed to what's my favorite episode, but this post will be massive as it is.

  • Chris Savino only wrote for one episode, and it's not one of my favorites.
  • I'd hate to put anything indicating less than awesome for Lauren Faust, but I didn't like the pilot as much as other episodes.
  • I liked all of Charlotte Fullerton's episodes, but they are only three episodes that I only "liked."
  • Cindy Morrow is certainly hit and miss for me. I liked Griffon the Brush-Off and Owl's Well that Ends Well, but parts of Winter Wrap-Up and The Show Stoppers I can't watch even now. Sisterhooves Social was nice, but it's too soon for me to assess it.
  • Mitch Larson should write for any potential Pony movie. I wasn't really thrilled about Luna Eclipsed or Sonic Rainboom though, but they are good episodes, I think.
  • Meghan McCarthy wrote three episodes I really liked including Party of One, which was an episode I watched about 4 times a week over the summer, and Lesson Zero was hilarious. But Green is Not Your Color isn't one I like much. More hit, with less miss, but still hit or miss with me.
  • My first and third/fourth favorite episodes. Shut up.
  • Amy Keating Rogers. The Ticket Master is one of my favorite episodes, I really like all of her other episodes. Solid all around writing with different plots, I guess. If Dave Polsky had written one or two more episode that I liked as much as Feeling Pinkie Keen and Over a Barrel, he'd be here instead. Come at me, bro.

This comic is entitled “Citation Needed”. I would like to go out the way and point out this now my official comic (also, MLP Wikia? The toy names are never correct.).
Equestria Daily as a digital magazine? Don’t want. The current blog format is perfect. If they want to just add onto it, fine, but I don’t want them foregoing the awesome blog format.

Saw that comic and immediately thought of you. In name only though. I'm not sure if you'd swing the banhammer so easily. Unless you were bored.

After looking at the potential magazine format, I think it'll be redundant. It seems as if it'll be a monthly round-up instead of the Nightly Round-Up which introduces information that didn't merit it's own post during the day. Too much effort for information that is easily accessible via EqD search functions.

Also, dis is sum bullsh!t.

Not that I disagree with the analysis, but the methods are not scientific. Sociology is a science. It studies a lot of factors that are not observable, thus making it a soft/social science, but it has a basis in theory and the scientific method. This guy says little about his theoretical grounding for his analysis. I can't figure out what is the specific mechanism that he's using to explain the phenomenon.

@Notsocoolguy

If the description wasn't a page back, I wouldn't mind. Since it is (and since part of the discussion is on this page, I'll ask that you just read the past page or so.

@burning_phoneix

I'd suggest (again my own will) to try running the game on this thread first. The problem with that is CitationNeeded and I will have to deal with that for the length of the game

I feel as if it may get locked as a JFF (or any) thread or start a flamewar that will ruin the game.

Supposedly, supermonday started a forum elsewhere. If that's the case, the game could be taken there.

EDIT: for comprehension, and to say, "Man, that felt good. Anyone got a cigarette?"

Just made this.

The original gif is not mine, but I thought this would be a nice addition to it.

Edit: @Verbose

You never cease to amaze me.

@Verbose
I tried to read it, I did. Now just take my karma.

I liked reading to opinions of the flowchart maker, but they are just his opinions.

I just want a Past Sins movie. I keep throwing gold bars at the TV but nothing happens.

Just when I refreshed the page Verbose loves to slap a wall of text in my face and I have to read it all.
And I found a pony drawing guide to help me! :D
So far I'm not doing half bad. If only some how I got a camera and up load the picture. :l

@Connor and Ric Tesla

I was hoping someone would make a macro or art of that line.

I loled at your comments. If it's that long or that hard to read, then it might actually merit negakrama. Making a post that's too dense too read is like making a useless post that contributes nothing.

But I wanted to comment on a lot posts over the past few days hours, but didn't want to double post. Therefore, wall of text. My apologies. I did try to format it for easier reading.

Did somepony say SHIPPING?!?

That'd actually be a pretty decent pairing if it wasn't for the fact that she's going to outlive him, and then I has the sad.

Sandwichman wrote:

anyone else seen this ? You guys think it's real? I think it sounds a bit off personally.

I really can't tell. I'm thinking that somepony just found someone who sounded a lot like Pinkie's singing actress and got them to do it.

I'm sorry, but I can't let you do that, Dave. (be happy)

ಠ_ಠ I would've just posted the look of disapproval, but KYM was all nope.avi.

There does seem to be a typo there where it says do ni or something of that sort, but I think the artist meant to say do not, but I'm just guessing.

I don't want to listen to it. I'm sure someone has already asked Daniel Ingram about it on his Facebook page, so if he responds, we'll know.

If it's confirmed to be an official song, then I'd imagine that he'd be pretty angry about it, like Sibsy was when that Derpy art from Luna Eclipsed got out. If it's confirmed for being not from the show, then I'd be more willing to listen to it, but I rarely listen to fan-made Pony songs, especially if they include singing.

Oh you. Don't be such a sour apple. Be adventurous. Explore, experiment, try new things. Don't be a boring old stick in the mud. I'm saying this in the nicest way possible. And like Pinkie Pie

Wait a second…….
When I joined KYM Pony, I said that the mane six should go to the Pony version of London, to which Algernon said no because American TV shows typically stereotype a Brit. But now we have Pip, who doesn't act like your stereotypical Brit but your typical little boy. That means…………
Ha! Winning!!!!

Wait… didn't Pip lose his British accent, though? He had it when he said he was "Pipsqueak the Pirate", but later, when he's talking to Luna, he just sounds like a little boy, accent-free. I assumed he was just using it because he was pretending to be a pirate.

Or maybe I just can't tell he's got the accent at that point.

ಠ_ಠ It might be me, but don't other countries do stereotypes of our country, and yes, you have Pip, though he may have been a one shot character for Luna Eclipsed, maybe.

That or he has a very light accent.

I tried to be brief in my explanation…Just because I'm hyper logical and dull doesn't mean I'm not experienced.

One of the things I'm very much interested in is music of any genre. Unlike a lot of people, rap, hip-hop, and country are not excluded. I've listened to orchestral and choral music of spirtual and secular inspiration from singing in choruses for about 8 years, popular music going back through the 60's from working at an Oldies'/adult contemporary/"pop" radio corporation in high school, I picked up smooth jazz from my dad and various other forms of jazz from a Jazz class I took in college, some electronica from an interest in video game music (especially from Midnight Club and other racing games,) alternative rock from being around people in high school, country because I like it when I hear it done well, hip-hop from being a black guy raised in a black family in a black neighborhood…

I've heard a lot of things. Pony stuff included. I like Rainbowcrash88, kil6969, and some Super Ponybeat, but I'm usually unimpressed with a lot of fan music. It's usually too repetitive and basic for me. And, to be honest, the voices tend to not be appealing. I have the music I like. I have no need to be any more adventurous…just yet.

Also, I think you'll find this interesting about that link (which may have gotten some support for being real:

Me and Jackle App posted the link onto Ingram's Facebook. The posts then got deleted with no comment by Ingram. I suppose it's a leak and he's not too happy about it.

If that actually happened, then it's certainly a cover-up tactic or a direct or indirect manner. He may treat any post like that, so as not to give away any actual link that is brought to his attention (indirect), but who knows for sure.
