Well thats no good about your cold, and creepy. An abandoned hospital eh… I'm not sure if I wouldn't mind a job like that – I usually prefer graveyard shifts and solitude.

Edit Newpage get, only 1 more… oh boy oh boy oh boy.

The 200 page mark has almost been reached again, and you guys know what that means, this thread will soon be closed and Pony General IV will be opened up.

If you want to see the reason for this repeated thread changing, take a look in the General section of the forum or on the first page of this thread. Both should show you the browsing space taken up by threads this large.

Have fun and keep on posting, bronies.

Get ready for Pony General IV: Electric Scootaloo.

(gah, that was a terrible attempt at a pun)

I just want to get this out before the thread closes:

Here's the voting I counted so far, hope I didn't miss anything

#   Name Votes
1   Pony General IV: Electric Boogaloo
2   Pony General IV: A New Hope
3   Pony General IV: Modern Warmare
4   Pony General IV: Live Pony or Die Harder with a Vengeance
5   Pony General IV: Berry Punch Is Your God Now, Bring Her Your Virgins
6   Pony General IV: We Swear It’s the Last One!
7   Pony General IV: Technicolor Boogaloo
8   Pony General IV: Electric Scootaloo

Also welcome to the thread X-Singular! (Hope I'm not too late to introduce myself) So I hear you lurked for 2 years?

Dang, you sir have upstaged me. I lurked here for only 1 year. Your lurking efforts make that sound like child's play.

Alright well I'm going to sleep. I'm exhausted, night everypony.

edit I'll just leave this here for you all.

Wow, I jump on here for a quick peek and see that you guys are already on page 198. Nice job.

FYI page 66 of the fourth thread will be the 666th page overall. I say we make it a creepypasta page to celebrate once we get there.

CHANGING MY VOTE TO THIS GLORIOUS SUGGESTION!

You really don’t get enough credit for your posts. But I think the fact that my name means being “long-winded” or “unnecessarily wordy” makes people associate tl;dr posts more with me than anyone else.

IN ADDITION I really don't like those Spitfire REA ads…is it for the Royal Equestrian Airforce….or Army? I can't tell!

If it's Airforce it should be REAF!

If it's army it should be RE Army! YOU NEED TO SPELL ARMY!

Phew…well that's a military nerd rant over.

I've been gone all day.

By the way, did I mention that your 60's Spider man derails are every bit of awesome?

Thanks. And I did it from my phone while at work.

Oh and about Ponyarchive, I figured that was just a matter of time.

I'm not too worried about it though. As long as I can still see the episodes over Youtube I will be fine and I don't think that's going anywhere.

Some people are worried that the loss of Ponyarchive is a sign of future legal action and YouTube is a suspected target. However people have already stated that if Hasbro attacked YouTube, that would be extremely counterproductive on their part.

YouTube is the best advertisement that Hasbro could ever ask for. The Hub only goes as far as the US but YouTube reaches the entire world and is making Bronies on all corners of the globe.

I believe the problem that Hasbro had with Ponyarchive wasn't that they were letting people view the episodes for free. They just didn't want Ponyarchive to have control over their Intellectual Property

They just didn’t want Ponyarchive to have control over their Intellectual Property

One word: awesome.

What the hay? I wake up in the morning to find this thread still alive?

@Blue Screen:
my post (suggestion?) was Technicolor Boogaloo but Electric Scootaloo gets the joke better +1 also

I Lurked here for only 1 year

I am the Lurkmaster Muahahaha

I spent about a year lurking before making an account. And I was hoping we could hold off on finishing this thread until the other regular users woke up.

Edit: I'm also going to attempt to beat Daniel in a race to insult OP.

I'm kidding.

Agreed. Only 68 posts left, let's do it people!

Also I only lurked for about five months, I feel like a lightweight :/

FYI page 66 of the fourth thread will be the 666th page overall. I say we make it a creepypasta page to celebrate once we get there.

I can do that.

Also, I still like my previous vote for "We Swear It's the Last One!" but anything Scootaloo gets my nod.

<img src="http://img.ponibooru.org/_images/2120ce3ff20312a33852c4d5e5542dc7/98626%20-%20artist%3Arubrony%20scootaloo%20snow.png" height="300" / >

I will now watch the Cutie Mark Chronicles to celebrate.

"You know where we can find a cannon at this hour?"

That's your cue, next poster. Find the cannon for Scoots.

I'm also too tired to come up with a proper response to your wall post, opspe. It will involve the problem with social science and not being able to properly establish proof causation. Also, religion probably isn't the driver of the protective effect against suicidality but just having a higher sense of meaning and self-worth, which can be found by practicing a faith but also in other things.

But I wasn't too tired to type that up. I don't know what I'm doing anymore.

@Verbose: Well, I suppose that's why you're researching it. I kinda wish I were in Arts so I could think about fun stuff like that.

Another question: who gets to be OP for the new thread? I nominate myself Verbose.

Well if we're going that route, it must be Random.

@Iambob:

My brain hurts.

Okay, here's an idea to fill the last page: everyone post about how they got into the show. It's probably been done before, but do it again anyways.

Well, I figured 199 would be our last page. Once we reached 200, someone would call in a mod to lock the thread while we all spam "inb4 the lock" and stuff like that.

Edit: @BSoD: I had my vote for number 6 then switched to number 8

Edit2: Hey, it seems like the late night debate club is mostly here. Since there's no debate today, let's all just marvel at our awesomeness.

I'm changing my vote to #8 too.

I think it should look like this, give or take a few errors.

Pony General IV: Electric Boogaloo  2
Pony General IV: A New Hope  3
Pony General IV: Modern Warmare  3
Pony General IV: Live Pony or Die Harder with a Vengeance  1
Pony General IV: Berry Punch Is Your God Now, Bring Her Your Virgins  4
Pony General IV: We Swear It’s the Last One!  4
Pony General IV: Technicolor Boogaloo  2
Pony General IV: Electric Scootaloo  5

We need one person who voted for 6 to switch vote and the new thread belongs to Scoot!

Brilliant idea! lets just have a late night debate club where we just recap the best quotes and moments of the debate club

Failing that we can still discuss the recent closure of Ponyarchives…nah that's sounds boring.

Aw, but that would involve going back through the pages to remember what the hell we were talking about. I'm too tired. By which I mean I'm too lazy.

ALRIGHT! LATE NIGHT DEBATE CLUB CIRCLEJERK!

Who wants to be the pivot?

What? You actually want a debate? Fine.

Do pegasi have to preen their feathers?

Hmm, threadkill?

… Inb4 th-

Edit: Nope, Hellsing

Edit2: And on the subject of pegasi needing to preen their feathers. I would think that they do need to, although they probably rely on other ponies to help them with that (I'm thinking spa ponies). I'm guessing it would be more difficult for a horse to preen their hypothetical wings than for birds to preen theirs.

Is that a clip of Black Lagoon?

Oooooh boy thats a doozy. Do we even have enough posts on this thread left to debate that?

I googled preening:

Why Preening Is Essential

Preening serves several essential purposes for birds, including:

  • Aligning feathers for optimum waterproofing and insulation.
  • Aligning feathers into the most aerodynamic shape for easier, more efficient flight.
  • Removing feather parasites and body lice that can destroy feathers or carry disease.
  • Removing tough sheaths from newly molted feathers.
  • Creating a healthier appearance to attract a mate.
  • Bonding between mates as a courtship ritual that involves mutual preening, called allopreening.
  •

With so many reasons to preen, it is no surprise that many birds engage in this behavior for several hours a day.

Ok, so its an important thing to do…now how in the hell do ponies manage it? Do they bend over like cats and nibble at them? Do they have some kind of technology like a wing brush? Magic bitches, I don't need to explain it?

Yes. They are feathers, after all. I'm sure that if a pegasus went to the spa they'd clean her wings.

Well, this is cutting it a bit late, even form me. I'm off to bed soon, and I expect the new thread to be active by the time I wake up tomorrow.

Well done opspe you just gave the R34 artists a wonderful new fetish idea.

I guess we can assume that if they have tools to brush their own manes, they have some handy for wings too.

Now that I think about it, there really is not much room for disagreement on this subject. We may have to consider something else. After will this will be our last late discussion on the thread. We need to give it a good one.

How about this: Were Alicorns really driven to near extinction by a single hostile foe (Discord), or is the race being suppressed in a genocidal manner by other Alicorns that do not want royal competition?

Last edited Dec 15, 2011 at 05:25AM EST

You can blame Wikipedia for that, not me…

My personal headcanon about alicorns is that they are and always have been selectively bred for leadership roles.

…which, of course, would mean that the entire royal family is inbred…

OH GOD, WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?

I am clearly too tired for this. Good night.

There was a study on EqD a while ago that presented the fact that Alicorns are just a really rare breed with several recessive genes and they can occur normally…like quintuplets or something.

So… almost the end of thread number 3. I mean, wow.

I'm gonna take this as an excuse to go all nostalgic on you guys:

    Pony General: a History

It all started with a pretty huge flamewar on the main article, since a lot of mods were getting sick of our image spam in the comments. Eventually we agreed to stop spamming the article and instead we would move our spam to the forums. We only really did it in an attempt to end the shitstorm, and I didn't expect we'd still be posting here nearly 600 pages later.

This was the first post of the new breed of Pony General, found on page 13:

    RandomMan wrote:

People were annoyed by this in the comments, so restart here.
Bronies, the great battle of our time is only just beginning. Choose your side and defend your honor.

    Now then!

For a while, we used the thread almost entirely for image wars while actual discussions were kept on the main article. Basically, someone would get a page-get and state a subject. We'd then find as many images as possible related to that subject and try to outdo each other. It was all pretty good fun for a while. The thread was a lot less serious back then, and tl;dr posts were quite rare. After the Second Great Shitstorm however, we were pressured into moving discussions there from the article. The posting started speeding up, posts got wordier, the image posting slowed down a lot, and eventually we started picking up new members (some of which post really quickly). Things have barely changed since then.

And that's how Pony General was made.

Nice idea, I love origin stories. I described my introduction to the fandom back on page 15 of the original thread. Looking back, I think I could have worded it better, so I might post an edited version of it on the final page.

    @Any long-time posters
Pro-Tip: Don't look back over the old thread. It'll only make you realise how much you miss the way things were. Things were pretty sweet back when the thread was dominated by me, Random, supermonday, SinisiterSnuggles, Xelus, Raymond and Verbose. I was way more active back then.

Last edited Dec 15, 2011 at 05:48AM EST

I don't look back to the old threads because really…I did not like those days. I was one of those advocating for mandatory tl;dr worship in our schools and to prevent image spammers from serving openly in our military.

In all seriousness, I was very close to abandoning KYM. Glad I stuck with it though.

Okay, here’s an idea to fill the last page: everyone post about how they got into the show. It’s probably been done before, but do it again anyways.

How did I get into the show? Well it all started when I decided to write an article on FaceBook about grown men watching the show. I figured I could generate some LOLS for my FB friends since they knew nothing about it.

I had been aware of the show, its addictiveness and the fanbase for the better part of the year. My joke was to watch the show with pessimism and snide, partially mocking people who get sucked into it, then the punchline would come as I get sucked into the show myself

Little did I realize the Article would go from being a joke, to a documentary.

I can't post the FB article here but I can post images of it if anyone wants to read the full story, it best explains how I got into the show better than anything else

Yeah, I'm gonna cut down the choices a bit.

    • "Berry Punch Is Your God Now, Bring Her Your Vigins" gets scrapped. I can't give users priveleges, even if their nick is related to a pony.
    • "A New Hope" and "Modern Warmare" lost quite some votes, so I'm dropping them. Making the title related to another fandom also seems unfair to people who don't like them. Similar to "Live Pony or Die Harder with a Vengeance", one vote is not worth counting.

It'll probably be related to "Electric/Technicolor Boogaloo/Scootaloo". Maybe a combo, I still have a page to think about it.

I'm adding an extra choice btw: "Now In HD!".

Bye votes! Oh well people only have less than 8 hours to re-vote before this thread hits its last post…plenty of time!

Pony General IV: Electric Boogaloo 2
Pony General IV: We Swear It’s the Last One! 4
Pony General IV: Technicolor Boogaloo 2
Pony General IV: Electric Scootaloo 5
Pony General IV: Now in HD 0

When the regulars get out of bed and post here, they will have the final say but it looks like Electric Scootaloo has this in the bag. I hope it wins. I myself will be going to bed and I won't wake up in time to see this threads closure

So this is my last post here probably. See you all in Pony General 4

    • Pony General IV: We Swear It’s the Last One! 4
    • Pony General IV: Electric Scootaloo 9
    • Pony General IV: Now in HD! 6+ (because my vote still counts as infinite)

I gave the votes to Electric Scootaloo because that is the most popular of the 3.
