Oh no no no! That simply won't do. Grab GIMP or Paint.net! They are free and amazing alternatives to Photoshop! Nopony should perform image manipulation with Paint.

@Ideo below me (to avoid making a separate post)

I like how confident you are now, for sure. Its a pleasant change.

Well, Paint is all I got and know how to use. But lemme give a try at these. Wich one have you got?

I personally use Paint.net, because its what I'm used to, but GIMP is great too. Both of them are powerful image editing programs. Since they are more complex than Paint, they do have a learning curve, but its not so bad once you get the basics down. Once you have them down, image editing becomes many times easier than if you were using Paint.

Much better than before, but still has plenty of room for improvement. I'm not a musician, but I'm noticing that there is very little variance in the notes. It sounds sort of repetitive. Try to mix it up some.

Also, take your time if you aren't already. These things should be a labor of love. Be prepared to spend many hours perfecting your work.

Ah, now we're talking. Much better.
You could only be more gentle with the piano. It was a little out of pace, but it was fine.

It's certainly tons better Ideological. Really. In a certain setting, I wouldn't mind hearing it. Perhaps something in a more recent Zelda dungeon. Allows for you to think. Sets the mood.

From my wall post(s,) you know I prefer something more formulaic with a definite melody and time signature. I never found a definite melody or time signature, so I'm not the greatest judge of it, but it was simple and pleasing to the ears.

I'll give that some kramas.

OK. Heh. Read that as protecting.

Laptop + garageband piano=difficult to use. Especially when my fingers get tired. Certainly is labor.

I tried adding some synths but I couldn't find one that fit.

I should probably list my inspirations for the song.

@Ideo

Sounds good, but could use some more variation. It's just the same thing over and over and over and blarg….

But would make a great dungeon theme. Has a nice atmosphere to it.

@The Cheetos

After all this time some of us have Cheeto'd avatars, you guys finally notice now?

But yeah, I use Photoshop Elements 8 for my shops. It was on my laptop when I bought it. Gimp is getting positive reviews and is free. So that might work as well.

@Random: What I was striving for.

Also, Gimp is a bit more difficult. I should know. I already have trouble shopping images as it is. I miss photoshop.

I just downloaded GIMP and still have to take time to learn how to use it. Let's see if I can

As for the Cheetos…

Now, now, I noticed. I just didn't think I'd hop on the bandwagon, is all. I was fine with my avatar, and then… suddenly… I needed Cheetos.

Oh, we should talk about our favorite writers from the episodes so far. I'm not up for a decent conversation for it for tonight though, so I'll pose it later, but if anyone wanted to start now, I'll weigh in later. Gigatoast did have a good point. Writers (or lead writers) for the show tend to have some common attributes. So I wonder if some of my least favorite and favorite are written by the same writer.

And when Jayson Thiessen was talking about Granny Smith in that Reddit open forum thing, I'm pretty sure he had this scene in mind.

Granny Smith might have overtaken Fluttershy in this episode. I've been waiting for that moment.

And I still can't understand everything she's saying.

D: Does that mean less Fluttershy? I sure hope not.

Darn straight.

No, I know you really like Fluttershy, but I've never really liked her (not saying I dislike her either.) Jayson just said that there was going to be more Granny Smith, and I liked her a lot for a secondary pony just for her line in the very first episode and even when she faded into background pony. I love senile cats characters like that.

So it wouldn't take much for me to put Granny Smith over Fluttershy. It did take a lot for me to put Applejack over Pinkie though. Just barely though.

Anyway, gotta go. Night guys!

I would rather have Big Macintosh have more lines. I do very much like Granny Smith, probably because the fandom hasn't done much with her. (Also because of the horrible clopfic…) I'm just waiting for Derpy's first line.

ಠ_ಠ I would be disappoint if that happened, and I'd probably have to send Twilight and Dash after the writers, and we see that they're ready to do some loving and tolerating there if that's the case.

That's a lot of plot!

Interesting story: I typed in "dat plot" into Google Image Search to get this image without thinking of the consequences.

So. Much. Pony. Ass.

No, what we need to do is track down several 20ish year old cartoon writers and animators who are bronies, and send them to studio B, then infiltrate the show from the inside!

Well, we'll see, I hope it doesn't come to pass, I'd hate to see my favorite pony phased out of the show, particularly when my second favorite pony more then likely won't ever make another appearance again.

I looked up the writers on the wiki, it conveniently enough comes with a bit of each of their writing backgrounds. Based on that and the episodes they worked on you can see key themes in their work. Here's some quick observations.

There are seven different lead writers so far, some with more episodes under their belt then others, all from different backgrounds in TV animation. Ya got,

+ Amy Keating Rogers who did Bridal Gossip, Best Night Ever and others. She generally does good work, a lot of her episodes tend to get the whole mane cast involved. She worked on all of Faust's other shows as well as Johnny Bravo and Fairly Odd Parents.

+ Charlotte Fullerton who did Suited for Success, she writes a good Rarity. She's also a Faust veteran.

+ Chris Savino did Boast Busters and incidentally was a producer for Dexter's Laboratory.

+ Cindy Morrow tends to do most of the "meh" episodes, like Show Stoppers and Owl's Well that Ends Well. She's competent, but tends to lay on the cheese a little too thick at times.

+ Dave Polsky is the odd one out, he's responsible for Feeling Pinkie Keen and Over a Barrel. But it may be the result of a completely different writing background, where as most FiM writers where at least focused on golden age CN cartoons Polsky worked on South Park and Scary Movie 2. His involvement is truly bizarre.

+ M.A. Larson hasn't worked on a Faustian cartoon before but is still a certifiable badflank, he did Sonic Rainboom both of the Discord episodes and Luna Eclipsed.

+ And finally we got Meghan McCarthy, who loves to push the ponies to their extremes. She did Dragonshy, Party of One and Lesson Zero. That's right, you can thank her for crazy Twilight.

My personal favorite would have to be M.A. Larson, as I said, dude's a badflank.

Interesting, and yes, I'd have to go with Larson so far as mine as he did a wonderful job on the Luna episode.

Gonna go with Meghan McCarthy. Lesson Zero and Party of One are my two favorite episodes.

I love me some crazy ponies!

Second choice would definitely be Larson. He is a badflank!

You really could trust me not to ruin the show if I controlled it. I just enjoy making everypony in the fanon freak out. But there would be moar Derpy. A Derpy in every scene wouldn't be too much to ask, would it?

I think the show is doing that pretty good on it's own, particularly the sister pairing with Dinky and Pinchy, that really freaked the fanon out.

Definitely going to be looking out for more Larson episodes especially after seeing that he also wrote Swarm of the Century and The Cutie Mark Chronicles. Dude wrote half of my favorites.

I see what you mean about Morrow, but I'd venture to say writing Winter Wrap Up makes up for the meh episodes quite nicely.

Oh and about there being a handful of Colgates in that picture with Derpy… well I guess you got me there. Also, in the same scene, theres a ferris wheel in the background with Derpy in almost every seat.

To be honest, I'm not sure how a Tardis works since I've never watched Dr. Who before.

Okay, it's near 2 in the morning (even though it's soon to be 1 due to the time change), so I think I best to be leaving. See you all later!

Like that, only anywhere in space and time, and with limited flight capabilities

I'm glad to see that I didn't miss TOO much in all those pages besides some image spam.

But concerning the writers debate…..I'm also confused on why we haven't picked up on that before! It would seem the obvious thing for us to concern ourselves about.

Also, Gigatoast's great writer wrap up post (geddit? ;D) reminded me that it was quite some time since I've posted a huge ass "What voice actors I would like in MLP" post.

But…I had a list and I can't remember who was on it now :(

I found yet another lolwut image of Rainbow Dash. Here you go.

With that, I'm going to "hit the hay", as Applejack would put it.

EDIT: Really, Cite? I haven't talked to you all day, and you're posting stuff when I'm about to go to bed? Bah!

Whatever. I'm sleepy.

This comic is entitled "Citation Needed". I would like to go out the way and point out this now my official comic (also, MLP Wikia? The toy names are never correct.).

Equestria Daily as a digital magazine? Don't want. The current blog format is perfect. If they want to just add onto it, fine, but I don't want them foregoing the awesome blog format.

What made you think that?

The only thing I was thinking of was how "intriguing" Rarity looks with wet hair.
