Re: Tiarawhy and porn

I was having a discussion about good artists starting R34. Tiarawhy started to do R34 some time ago. I knew of his work before all the R34.

So, I was talking with my brother about artists going with R34. I brought up examples of at least 15 artists that I follow who did not do porn. But with time started to draw R34.
One of the reasons being that, an R34 pic is going to get more reactions and views than a "normal" picture. Same goes for violent pics.

Almost every artist I follow resorted to drawing porn. I was surprised to see Tiarawhy's work because I knew his/her work before all this porn stuff.

I did contemplate drawing R34. But decided against doing so. I quit drawing completely.

If you know me, you know that like Pyro loves Luna/Nightmare Moon, I love Chrysallis
So I tend to be a little protective of the character, holding the art of her in higher esteem.
And I think it's sad that EVERY character needs to be sexualized.

Lol but okay, I got a topic for discussion.

This is old news but Megan McCarthy is the story editor for season 3. She was the writer for episodes such as Lesson Zero, Dragonshy, Party of One, Call of the Cutie (uh-oh) and the Finallie (oh, well hot damn!)

All and all, she's written alot of great stuff, so I think her contributing to even more episodes will turn out to be a great thing. Any thoughts?

I think that's actually a good topic: Favorite writer.
McCarthy is awesome, she will do good. I forgive her for call of the cutie. That episode was meh, but the CMC have gone on to do great things.

My favorite writer: M.A. Larson, Swarm of the Century, Sonic Rainboom, The Cuite Mark Chronicles, Return of Harmony, Luna Eclipsed, Secret of My Excess, The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000, It's About Time, Ponyville Confidential.

Larson (in my opinion) has one of the highest entertainment values out of all the writers. Skillfully uses humor as well.

I think McCarthy is a better fit for the job because she is better with morals and character development than Larson.

While we're talking about writers, whatever happened to dave polsky and chris savino? They wrote 2 episodes each in season one and were never seen again. 3/4 of their episodes were meh. But savino wrote Boast busters (TRIXIE) and I have no idea of his whereabouts. Does anypony have information on this?

That is Daniel Tosh, the host of the Comedy Central show Tosh.0, on which he commentates on popular culture. Though vulgar, he is entertaining to a certain degree.
He's known for not being on limits, making fun of nearly everything. So, that pic may or may not be legit (as in, sincere).

That is interesting. I am highly skeptical of that.

Edit: As for the topic over the writers, I can't say much, as I pay little attention as to who writes what. I think all the writers so far have done a good job, as there are no episodes I haven't liked. For all the 'meh' that Mare Do Well, Call of Cutie, Showstoppers, etc. get, I like all of them immensely.

I was joking, surprise. Trixie is ok but her self omnipotence does get annoying. Anyways once I start a theme I just stick to it until I run out of material which I did. For the most part I don't mean to offend I just like to joke around. Lets change gears.

And about how so many non rule 34 artists suddenly decided to draw rule 34 stuff, I'm willing to bet it's a matter of trying to stay / become relevant in the fandom to a lot of them. I mean they had to have noticed how some of the most popular artists in this fandom make the stuff. I think it's entirely possible that they're hoping doing the same will bring their names the same attention and / or they could be trying to reach a wider clientele to do commissions for. While I think those are understandable reasons, I personally wouldn't be comfortable making Rule 34 stuff. Accidentally stumbling upon it once and a while doesn't bother me but the idea of creating it doesn't sit well with me at all. I guess it's because on the rare occasion that I draw stuff, I like to keep things as unrustling as possible. Also I'm just not into it.

That was posted a long time ago, I don't think it was ever confirmed. Sad but Daniel Tosh is known for being a troll so I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't true.

As for the favorite writer topic, Meghan McCarthy and M.A. Larson probably put out good episodes more consistently than some of the other writers. Amy Keating Rogers puts out some real good stuff too. Best Night Ever? Bridle Gossip? Amy Keating Rogers.

Back on the topic of the page get in the name of the Greatest and most Powerful pony, I'd love to see a Trixie episode written by M.A. Larson. Like Flu77ershy1337 said on the last page, Larson writes the funniest stuff. And after seeing his hilarious portrayal of Luna and Pinkie Pie in Luna Eclipsed, I think an over-the-top character like the Great and Powerful Trixie would be better handled by him than anyone.

By any chance have we discussed that scene where Celestia gets trapped in a cocoon? I thought of it of a prison at first but I didn't think of it as a method for actually transforming ponies into Changelings. That's made the whole changeling concept even more interesting for me. I.E: that's how they reproduce.

Also the first time I saw that image I thought it was some creepy shipping…but upon closer inspection it isn't
