Tosh.0 comes even after that.

His show is funny to a certain degree. But the "viral" stuff he features is just all so old, nearly everyone knows about it already.

(flies in with Jetpack)
So, what exactly is going on? Discord I see…
And also a diabeetus-inducing comic for some…
Just answered my own question….
So, let's pick it up to speed. Day's been upsetting for this Mando.
For one, I tried to collect the bounty on RD (goodness knows who's offering that)

…took hours, but eventually…
she got away

So, I'd like to tell you guys about something that happened.

A few days ago, I sent an email into Equestria Daily for their "Q&Neigh" regarding the use of the Grimdark tag in their new fiction submission system. Apparently, it made an impression, because when the episode was posted yesterday, Midnight Shadow made it a discussion topic in the comments. Seeing this, I decided to make a comment myself:

I was the one who sent the email about "dark vs grimdark." Seriously, my face when my email actually got heard. It's pretty incredible to be a catalyst behind a major issue.

With that, I'd say that I stand by my original point, that Grimdark should be replaced with just Dark. It encompasses a much wider range of themes, it removes the implication of gore, and terminologically, it's cleaner. If I had written a story, I'd much rather have described as Dark, simply because Grimdark is a ridiculous phrase that removes any sort of professionalism a story might want to project. Yes, this is fanfiction about technicolor miniature horses we're talking about, but that doesn't mean we have to treat it like a joke.

Another point: FIMfiction uses Dark rather than Grimdark. I feel like EqD has an excellent system for fiction, and naming one of their genres with a meme phrase isn't the way to go. I've been to FIMfiction, I've seen how stories there are made, and it's not an enjoyable experience; there's much more freedom with EqD, and I think the staffers here should use that to their advantage.

tl;dr: Dark > Grimdark, hooves down.

Perhaps we should have a poll about this. Let democracy decide.

And then, in an even more surprising turn of events, Sethisto himself responded to my post:

We usualy use dark these days, though the archiver sticks with grimdark just to make it easy to find them

So there you have it. Don't be afraid to lobby for an issue you believe in. You might just be heard.

I've read a couple of pretty good grimdark stories before. The Slender Mane was a pretty good, also another good one was The Cough was a pretty good grimdark.
I try to read, if I can, any grimdark story that gets on EQD. I have no clue why, but I just like them. (Especially if they are well written, which those two were.)
But yeah, that's just my two cents. I know some people can't stand grimdark. I've always had a fascination with dark stuff. I also like to read creepypasta. But that's just me.
EDIT: I think I'll rephrase that, I like most Grimdark-Horror story hybrids.

@Fridge Logic

You brought up a really good point there. I've read a few fics that were labelled 'grimdark' that weren't even remotely similar to the likes of Cupcakes or Rocket to Insanity. It's simply too broad a term to adequately describe all of the fics it currently encompasses. Grimdark tends to be associated with gore fics, and that's not what fics like Fallout Equestria or End of Ponies are about. 'Dark' is a much more appropriate term, and should be the default term to describe moodier fics (unless the author specifies otherwise).

So, petition. I vote for making a My Little Pony version of Know Your Meme, called "Know My Ponies". It would be basically be a place to document all pony related stuff. I recommend it as a connection to sites like Ponychan and /r/mylittlepony/. All in favor, say aye.

Oh, and it's my idea, so I'm head of staff.

@Teh Brawler:

I think MyLittleBrony, Ponychan, Ponibooru, Equestria Daily, etc. have that covered.

I don't think we need a documentation site for it.

@Pinkie:

Hm… I don't know why, but I think I like you, lass. Want to see my severed heads collection? Have a lot of good Spies, Scouts, Pyros, Heavies, Soldiers, and… just about everybody else.

@Brawler's idea
Hey thread, didn't we have a user way back who wanted to make a site called "Know your ponies"? August Day, I believe. Is he still active?

Any of the following avatars look familiar…….

Guess who got their question answered on a filly Chrysalis Tumblr.
Here is said Tumblr. Follow the fuck outta this, because adorable.

Edit: @Zarathh:

I pointed that out in the comics of a pic back when that episode came out. They'd have to be in our exact solar system to get the optical illusion of it being a Horsehead, pretty much. So, unless we have a spaceship that can survive the Event Horizon, and that actually DOES launch us into an alternate dimension, we won't get to ponies through space.

Now, if there's another nebula that has the same optical illusion, and it's within a distance that it isn't distorted to them…

Well, we'd need a damned powerful telescope to see it, some brilliant mathematicians to analyze every possible angle, and then we'd be playing a guessing game just to make a ship for a decades long flight into the unknown.

And, of course, we're assuming the creators of the show are omnipotent gods that would know about the pony world.

Which, of course, THEY ARE.

HAPE TIME!!

@Zarathh
Yes! Thats me spending a wonderful time with my friends!
They always looked like that sense I first meet, and I always look like that when I first looked into the mirror, it was frightening at first but I got used to it.

@Explosive Lasers
That's not like of Pinkie! Collecting rewards I did not earn on my own is not who Pinkie is. Yes!
Pinkie has been working hard and been collecting plenty and will be put into use for either decoration or for my own constructional use!
But have some refreshments while you are here!

Sorry for not posting earlier, I had to calm down the Changeling Queen again with elephant darts. Do you know how many Pinkie had to use to get that beast?; 10. Her want to feed off of the love you guys are made her go into desperate attempt for food. Pinkie thought me giving her some hugs would be enough, but I guess not!

So watch me and AJ bake cupcakes!:

Hey, at least he is funny as are his skits. Nothing comes close to ridiculousness on how awful it is. I try to be fair with most shows and find something remotely good about it, but MTV just really knows how to make shows that are just unwatchable by people older than 15. Ridiculousness is honestly the worst show on TV in my opinion. Daniel tosh kicks Rob dry-dicks ass.

(brings out blaster)

WHAT DID YOU DO TO CHRYSALLIS?
There will be a burnt corpse if you so much as harmed her…

… anyway, after that RD Bounty Hunt, I found this suitable and defines what happened:

@Zarath
I doubt they're referring to our Horse head nebula because even if ponies did exist, their world would be in location too far away from our own, that any celestial object they saw would look completely different to what we see.

We can only see the horsehead nebulae from one perspective. The ponies would have to live on a world that is in a different position than our own and thereby, they would have a different perspective. For all we know, ponies, when looking at the horsehead nebula from their different perspective, could be seeing a taco instead of an equine cranium.

Nothing. Pinkie is sustaining her. She seems to be much use to me, I am wondering what I could do or how to change in the way a changeling does. then I can finally get the royal guard off of my tail.
So Pinkie must research how to alter my own DNA so I can have the same properties! Yes!
I can always can go to carnivorous consumption.

But one must not tamper with the flesh of a creature with unknown blood consistency. Her blood could be acid! giggles

She is just starving a tad, but the love I give her isn't enough I presume, I guess I need to go out again and find some "love" to keep her stable. Pony hearts are always a good source of love!

Time for Engie's random drawing time.

Apparently I got bored (big surprise…)
So when my friends knew know that I was a fan of Twilight. They suggested
I drew something to go with it. The ear thing I draw on my pony was because
of a fence jumping accident I was in. While climbing it I kinda got cut by the
barbed wire. Pretty bad but it healed.
So, Enjoy.

well, after revealing myself as Fett, I think I should sort out with what I'm gonna do with myself.
sorry mods, but here's a personal note:
I'm gonna leave the forums (don't worry, it's not you guys… much), so don't expect me for a while. I've got a lot to think about, fics to write, Chrysallis to love, and stuff to do. I'll get back to you once chapters 1 & 2 of Lunar Dawn are done.
TILL THEN

FETT OUT!

last edit- If you need anything, feel free to PM me.

@Brawler

We had a "know your pony" discussion in Pony General IV. Some guy from the comments section named August Day (I've seen him still there, but I don't post in the comments anymore) wanted to start one, and everyone told him it would take a lot of resources and it's been done already.

Congrats to Fridge for getting his message heard. I agree that the "grimdark" tag is often out of place. I'm not that big of a fic reader (I've read about 35 total), and I've only read two "grimdark" fics. Both of them though used its dark elements to very good use, and one of them is one of my all-time favorites (I anxiously read every update hoping to see this one). When most people think "grimdark" though they think of Cupcakes.

Now if only Moonstuck would answer my requests.

Here is some Luna, since she seems to have some mention on this page:

Thanks for your opinion. See, I just figure it's this way:

When I hear the word "grimdark" in the same context as MLP, my mind immediately defaults to Cupcakes. A lot of authors, myself included, don't necessarily enjoy having their work shed in the same light. Comparisons can be made with the horror movie genre; Dark would refer to something like Hitchcock's Psycho, a thriller with intense imagery and themes and very little blood, whereas Grimdark would refer to something like Saw, which is pure torture-porn.

So we can see that there is, in fact, a definition between the two. In this way, four letters makes all the difference in the world.

Pinkie feels happy and will try to stay like this as long as possible! Hehe!!!

Pinkie feels so lonely….

But now I must lock everything up then send Scootaloo to bed; then sleep.

I just got back from The Avengers. Two words: Fucking amazing.
Anyways, what did I miss?

@Fett: Aww, I'm sorry to see you go buddy. I hope everything goes well with the fanfiction. I also hope that you can get back to us soon. Hugs and kisses!

@Pinkamina:Those ponies were the Equinox Ponies, you can find out more about them here. I just wanted to know if you knew them or not. Oh, and I'll be your special somepony. I might even help you with the bodies, if you don't have anyone else to help you with them.

@Engie: I love the drawing! My artwork skills are about as good as a kindergartener. :P

Regarding Grimdark stories: Like I stated in my previous post, I love all things scary and creepy. I especially like Grimdark stories if they are well written, like The Slender Mane. I know that some people don't like Grimdark stories because of gore, and Cupcakes. But Cupcakes was alright for a Grimdark story, in my opinion. It didn't really have a story line at all, and it was just for shock factor. I heard once that it was made to stop PinkieDash shipping. Anyways, that's just my two cents.

Engie's 10min drawing corner.

One quickie before bed.
The text was supposed to be me getting pissed off at someone calling Immigration.
"You gotta be shitting me, who called Immigration ?

Mostly it's a joke among my friends of me being illegal, I don't mind it at all.
Also I got another one of a conversation I had today involving my itty bitty pony self
and Twilight.
Oh, I drew this cause I had chat with a friend on Steam wondering if I was an actual
immigrant.

Out of curiosity, does anyone here have a MLP roleplaying group they're a part of? I used to be a part of one some time ago, but I dropped it for mutliple reasons, but now I'm wanting to get back into it.

MLP roleplaying group? I didn't even know this excited. Please tell me the details of your experience so I can make my own group. A lot of people (including me) in our schools improv group are bronies. I think they would like this idea.

Oh, well, I'm talking about the MLP forums on the internet that have roleplaying sections where you can create OCs and roleplay with other fans in your own setting. I can't FOR THE LIFE OF ME remember what the name of the old forum I was on was (though it doesn't really matter; I know that they switched URLs and names), and I was hoping that someone on here was also a member of another site with roleplayers that I could jump on.
