Just got LoL and I have it all set up and installed.

Can't play at the moment due to a several hour login queue time though.

Does anyone know if there is a time of day when this isn't an issue?

There was an IP boost event and the servers were kinda flooded. It should be just fine now though.

On a related note.

Unfortunately the last patch sort of broke the game and a lot of people have been have connection issues after leaving games. Riot is still working on a new patch.

Well I finally played my first game. Kicked some ass (I mean got destroyed in a 2 on 5 battle) as Blitzcrank. It's fun but it seems like exactly the same game as Dota 2. I'll have to decide which one I like better.

I'm Jade Falcon Star in LoL if anyone wants to play when the servers aren't derping.

LoL is essentially just a smoother version of the original DotA so in makes sense that DotA2 would be almost the same.

Most of the differences between the two are superficial but there are some game play elements that set them apart, like the importance of towers, Champs, and how minions are used. Even then they are almost the same game just League of Legends is a bit more casual.

Yeah, I do like that LoL seems more casual. I played a couple matches in Dota 2 and everyone seemed to take the game WAAAAY too seriously.

I''ll stick with LoL for now and hope that these bugs get patched soon.

Yay. Any way here's my summoner name so you peoples can add me.

Once you win like 15 PvPs and start playing people who aren't new, everyone will be an asshole who takes the game WAAAAY too seriously. That's also why I don't play PvP anymore.

I'm Vehn on LoL if anyone wants to play. I'm not entirely opposed to idea of playing PvP so long as I'm not getting screamed at for dying because my computer lags when all 10 players are right on top of each other. I normally only play at night (around 9:00 U.S. central time) because then the servers usually aren't as full as I lag less.

On a side note, I really need a new PC as I feel sorry for making everyone who plays with me wait 10 minutes at the loading screen, and so I can actually run Guild Wars 2 when it's released.

Is it worth it? Just asking…

Well it is free. Takes up about 2GB of memory and isn't too graphically intense.

If you want to try it you can download and play it in about two hours time.

It is a fun game.

There are a lot of ragers though and zero teamplay. In fact, your team is usually more interested in you dying than the enemy.

Seriously? Doesn't sound very welcoming…

Dont listen to him. Most games I've played haven't had any ragers in them. In fact I've wound up being friends with quite a few of the people I've met in matches.

I might download it tonight to try it out…
Can I ask you to help me?

Mexx Android wrote:

Yep. Nearly every match past lvl5 or so will have a rager in it, and your team members almost always think solely of themselves.

It is a fun game if you are playing with a friend, send ragers to ignore list asap instead of replying to them and remember not to rely on your team too much.

And this is how to Teemo:

I Tried the game maybe months ago but I pretty much quit after playing a while.
Playing a Bot Game in LoL is Unfairly Hard at a low level and leveling up just to standa chance against them is Nearly impossible because of how slow you level up. Player Vs. Bots are even wrost because my team is always Retarded. But I didn't try playing with a friend, So if you guys plan a game I'll start playing this again.

MFW I can't do it now:

Yeah, the LoL servers seem to run into trouble every now and then. They went down yesterday too, and like usual, at the worst time possible. I was just about to get my first victory after five defeat streak, and naturally that was the moment the servers decided to crash. I was about to start raging at my USB-Modem like usual, but a quick look at the forums ensured me that the fault was once again at RIOT's end.

All the server problems and crashes, and the recent EU server hackings have been really unfortunate. They really need to do something about the issues, and not just give random IP Boosts whenever problems happen. Well, maybe free RP would be another thing. Hah.

As for my own playstyle, I'm still maining Xerath in the mid, and prefer ranged AP champs and mages overall. Too bad they're so squishy that they get easily focused and taken down by a well coordinated team. But I've gotta admit, that out of all the AP champs I've tried so far, Xerath fits my playstyle the best. Gotta love that insane artillery range.

I'm also in the middle of building my AP Rune Page, and after that, I'll have to get on with making one for support champions. Too bad that the additional Rune Pages are really expensive, since I also need to build one for AD Carry champions (meaning mostly Kog'Maw, who I'm yet to buy). It takes a lot of work and time to get these things without using any Riot Points, so I'm stuck using only a few select champios.

So what servers are people actually using here mostly? I think I'm one of the few users who are at the EU West servers.

I got disconnected in the client-lobby-thing, not an actual game.
So I went to the support forums and looked to see what the problem was and it turns out Riot had no clue what was wrong and PEOPLE WERE MAAAAAAAD.
Every like, 2 seconds a new post was made always along the lines of "I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF RANKED MY PARTNERS ARE GOING TO BE PISSED FFFFFFUUUUUU- WHY DO DAMN EUROPEANS GET ALL THE LUCK"

> mfw I play this casually and wait for another IP boost/server crash

They really should stop with the IP though. I would like some RP for once.

If only they knew how wrong they are. The euro servers are riddled with issues too. At least the people on NA servers didn't get their usernames, summonernames, personal info, email addresses, and passwords stolen like we did.

I only play about one or two matches per day, so the server downtime doesn't really bother me all that much. It was the hackers that ruined the day.

I already got that 400RP when I leveled up, but as you can guess, you can't buy anything with that. I just have to wait for moar free RP, so I can actually buy something worth buying. I haven't got anything special planned though. 1000RP could get me a 6300IP champ, a new Rune Page, or a decent special skin. There's lots to choose from, and then there are the sales too.

I’m a level 30 summoner and just lost to a Co-op Vs AI.

That can happen if the match winds up being too long. If I recall corretly, the A.I gets their items based on the timer, so they have no need to farm. And co-op Vs. A.I matches also get a lot of feeders and people disconnecting. The intermediate bots can therefore be surprisingly tough sometimes.

You should've seen EU servers a year ago. People had to wait 7 hours or more in the queue just to get disconnected right after getting in.

There was some sort of issue which apparently could only be fixed witha server split.

It was insane.

I played heimerdinger and got ganked a 8 times in a row. It was only me that got ganked though, the enemy team was focusing the hell out of me. Jokes on them though because every time they focused me they wound up getting raped by master yi.

Were you around when Heimerdinger had six turrets? Man, that must of been crazy times.

I post stuff wrote:

Didn't he only have three? And then the number got reduced to two. He's kinda tough to play in 5v5 with all the Dariuses (or Darii?) running around.

yeah its a bit tough when your laning against champs with really hight AD that have rush moves like Yi that can put out a lot of AD in a few seconds

Oh, god… They broke my main!

I was just playing my first game with Xerath as the newest patch landed on the EU, and noticed that I missed quite a few sure kills on the Twisted Fate I was laning against. First I though it was just lag or insane luck, but during the entire match, I just felt something was seriously wrong with him. Hitting his ulti barrage is pretty much necessary, and now it's become even more difficult.

Needless to say, we lost the match, even though I was still among the best of my team. He's pretty much become almost unplayable now, and he won't be getting the intended buffs until a new patch.

This is a grim day for the few of us who actually play Xerath. Maybe I should just start saving up for Ezreal, or that Kog'Maw…

And why is it that every time I join the KYM LoL thread, I have to complain about something?

Some good news would be great for a change.

I swear, if this game wasn't so fun no one would but up with Riot's bullshit.

Why can't I be good at any male characters. I feel weird only playing as Annie, Ahri, and Sona.
Also, why did Riot have to make it so Annie gets too weak after mid? My main can't even survive in late pvp ;-;

I just went mid against Annie with Teemo. Needless to say it wasn't very nice. Having Alistar in my team who always missed with Pulverize and Headbutted foes into safety didn't help either. We also had a jungle Shyvana who was lvl5 when everyone else was lvl9+, meh.

What's worse is that this kind of scenario repeats itself in almost every match I play.

Yeah, I admit Annie is very strong against certain champs at the beginning and middle game, but as soon as late game arrives, her burst drops significantly and you must decide between actually being able to do solid damage or being able to survive 2 hits.
I'm working on getting better as Ahri but so far I kind of suck.
