Dear Princess Celestia,

@Verbose
Yeah, I don't believe that Will Anderson has any power over or knowledge of 'many, many seasons,' but I think I can at least use his words as semi-confirmation that the 13 episode season 3 isn't the end.

As for dropping hints, I don't think that has really ever been too big a deal for Hasbro/DHX as long as the hints aren't significant or negative.
So far, the only two 'leaks' that have been said to have caused trouble were the 'Smile Song' and Megan's recent 'shortened season' slip.
One was a pre-release of actual content and the other was information that caused some small pockets of panic in fans thinking the show was ending.
Teasing at the existence of future episodes (and even their content) hasn't seemed to bring the same repercussions.
As you said, Jayson talked about a future Trixie episode and Tabitha St. Germaine spilled the Flutterdragon concept at ComicCon without any apparent consequences.
(BTW, Jayson said his thing about Trixie at a time when Season 2 would likely have been fully scripted, so it was always pretty unlikely that she would have shown up anyway. Her one mention was pretty late season and could have been added as a small 'we haven't forgotten her' kind of shout out, or just a complete coincidence.)
I think I'm relatively confident in saying that something will be coming after season 3, though that was quite likely even before this just from an economic point-of-view.
Hasbro struck gold here and they are not going to shut down this mine so quickly.

HEY GUYS

GUYS! HEY GUYS

THERE IS A SHOW CALLED MLP:FIM AND ITS PRETTY GOOD!

WHAT IF

WHAT IF IT CAUGHT ON WITH OLDER MALES AND FORMED A FANBASE!?!?

WE COULD CALL THEM "PONY DUDES"! OR BETTER YET BRONIES!

DO YOU THINK THIS WILL HAPPEN?

In the very rare moment I was browsing 4chan, I found this on /mlp/:

"I was wondering what would have happened if FiM didn't have a past that makes everyone think that the people who like it are all gay. Or even better, that MLP were considered manly. I came to the conclusion that if MLP was never hated, then many of us would have never discovered the show (many of the bronies were born out of curiosity). The shock of thinking that an adult male would like something as girly as MLP drived many people to watch it. Besides, if the show wasn't hated, then bronies wouldn't have to deal with haters, and wouldn't have the motto "Love and tolerance". Also, no one would pay attention to us. The News pass news that are shocking, such as a big ass fandom that like a show for little girls. We wouldn't be featured in the news and we wouldn't be one of the biggest fandoms in the whole internet. So in conclusion…haters made us powerful. We wouldn't be nothing without them."

It's pretty much a "haters gonna hate / curiosity killed the cat", but it's somewhat true.

so does a post entirely in lowercase.

you have now realized this post in entirely in lowercase.
your head will now explode.

Gather round children, it's time for a tale. Today I'm going to tell you the story of the plush master.

Our story begins in the mythical land of California where the magical race of the celebrities live, and the terminator is the king. Amongst the odd and wonderous things in this land is the plush master, a strangle little hobgoblin that lives in the forest in a little cave by the stream. The plush master spends all his days and nights scouring the world in search of pony plushes to add to his collection.

The plush master gathers plushes from only the most skilled artisans, and any brony would be grateful to have even one, but the plush master is jealous of his treasures and loathe to share from his massive horde. There is but one way to soften the plush master's heart and make him share with you. You must show him the milk of human kindness and convince him that plushies are a small price to pay for friendship You must repeatedly threaten to brutally murder him until he's not sure whether you're joking anymore! Only this will force the plush master to part with one of his precious treasures as a life bribe. Just recently, all of my death threats finally paid off and the plush master sent a plushie of my very own!

YAY, I'VE FINALLY GOT MY VERY OWN DASHIE!!! And hot damn, I've been having way too much fun with this.

I started off teaching Dash a little music.

She's a natural! Unfortunately, the same could not be said about chess…

sigh no Dash, the object of the game is not to try to knock over the king by tossing pieces at him.

And I owe it all to the plush master, DeadParrot222, for finally having the good sense to realize that it's easier to just buy me off with a plushie than wait for me to come to your house and get my own.

So remember bronies, if you want your own plushie, just send a message to the plush master stating the magic words:

Plush master plush master oh give me a plush
Make it a dashie and make it a rush
Plush master plush master, I've learned where you lye
Now send me that plushie OR YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY WILL DIE!

@Deadparrot

Plush master plush master oh give me a plush
Make it a pinkie and make it a rush
Plush master plush master, I’ve learned where you lay
Now send me that plushie OR I WILL PERMABAN YOU AND YOU CAN NO LONGER STAY!

@Fifths
You do realize what you have done, right?

I'm sure this will end well for me…

Glad to see she showed up, though.
Did she at least make an entrance when you opened the door, like so?

@RandomMan
BACK!
BACK, I SAY!
GET BACK, YOU VULTURES, YOU!

@Deadparrot

Plus you still owe me for giving Platus all the credit on the Ponification entry while I wrote 90% of that thing.

I DESERVE LOVE AND PRAISE FOR THE WORK I DO HERE!

@Zarathh
That is actually Giegue, his alien form. He becomes Giygas because he transforms himself in the Devil Machine.

Do not question me on this!
Also… anybody know who this artist is?

@Fifths
It's beautiful. So how much did you pay for it?

Edit: @El Slinker

Looking at the URL of that image, you would know it's Bakki.

He makes good drawings, he actually made those Woona dark side images.

@RandomMan
Thank you! I will give you hug!

Just… amazing artwork, man.

@Fifths
All you did was threaten to kill him? You didn't have to pay a dime!! How I loathe you…
This just makes me all mad guy-like. Hey honey. Stop making dinner.

@DeadParrot
Well, let's see if I can dig up an old image with an exif on it…
I'm kidding! I'm… kidding…

I know I'm not discussing any of the topics that you guys are talking about, but out of curiosity. Have any of you gents been to a brony convention?

Because me and my older brother (who isn't a brony yet… soon…) will be attending to go to Equestria LA. I've already payed for the tickets today and this will be my very first time to ever go to a convention.

Oh and here's a cute gif of Applejack.

Is this some kind of joke?
It came with a note that said, " Hey dac, I want you inside me and this inside you. I used it already"
I know Im sexy, but please control yourself man!

Verbose and Opspe have been to the latest Bronycon because of their survey, they had a stand there.

Some of the staff was there as well, but more for taking pics and out of general interest, nothing site official. The office is in New York, so it was close by.

There are some users in both the comments (visit the forum more you maggots) and here on the forum who went to Bronycon, but I don't know the exact users. You'll have to hear it from them personally.

With other events, I'm unsure.

From what I heard from Opspe and Verbose, the convention itself is a mix of Ponygasm and "WTF?" based on how much of a brony you are. Expect random screamers across the hall (I still don't got that, but it's what I was told), a lot of cosplay (the good, the bad, the fucked-up), handing out A LOT of random brohoofs, and random cheering based on the stand you're visiting.

Plus from maps I've seen, it depends on the reason you're going. Some just want to watch the stands and see the creators, other are there for the cosplay and to cosplay themselves. You have popular artists who take requests, which is a reason for people to get their personal requests drawn while meeting the artist. Let's just say, there's enough to do.

I don't know what to expect in detail though. I never knew Bronycon had a dance party until I saw videos. But afterwards, it makes sense. We have skilled musicians, they'd be crazy to pass up some free advertising.

Oh, and orgies. LOTS OF ORGIES!

@Dac

Did the note say what I used them for? No, it did not.

You damn pervert. The moment you see a dildo you automatically assume buttsex is involved. You sure you aren't gay Dac? Working on such a hot sweaty farm, constantly looking horse shlongs, while shoveling their dung, surely must've done something to you. It's ok to share it with us Dac, we're here to help you get through these hard and tough times. I sent you that box to help you relieve some stress the way you love it the most. So see, you can trust us. The "I want you inside me" was just a play of words to get you into temptation, we both know I am way too attractive to be interested in the likes of you.

Last edited Jul 29, 2012 at 12:37AM EDT

@random man
Buttsex? I assumed you wanted me to eat the dildo. I said nothing of buttsex. As for what you wanted me to do to you, I wasn't too sure. It's k, I appreciate the gesture, but I would have prefered a t-shirt.

So… Speaking of dragon dildos…. How about that fluttershy dragon episode?

OmniXVII wrote:

This is why I watch mlp.

The sooner we're all dead the better.

What the fuck man. You are conveying some seriously bad vibes in regards to life.

Yeah, the vast majority of the world is shit, but the few parts of it that are not shit are the parts that are worth living for. The issue is that those good parts are not just served up on some silver platter; you have to work hard to find them, and a big problem for a lot of people is that they don’t look hard enough. Even worse, some people give up without looking at all.

MLP:FiM had the good fortune of, unlike its predecessors, not being shit. It has been very inspirational and helped the lives of many people. However, a lot of people after finding FiM have stopped looking for other things to do. Once you find something great it is very easy to just center on that one thing, but this leads to a lot of people becoming obsessed and very narrow-focused. A bit of fandom and escapism can be great fun, but simultaneously people should be trying to expand their horizons to the many other amazing things that are out there.

One of the most important and difficult parts of life is finding one's own “raison d’être”, and part of that process includes doing as many things as possible that make you happy. Don’t let any of the shit in this world get in the way.

/existential rambling

Also, please don’t use rage comics to express your feelings. Use your words. Everyone here knows how to read. You don’t have to use some Internet pictographic bullshit to communicate with us.

@Dick Faggotson
Go to the concert. Bronypalooza at Bronycon was amazing and whatever they have planned for Equestria LA is also bound to be fun. When you do go to the concert, don't forget to bring glowsticks. I am still kicking myself for forgetting to bring some.

Also be prepared for a lot of chanting at the con. I don't get why everyone was chanting so much. At some points it even got downright creepy, but it is easy enough to ignore.

Last edited Jul 29, 2012 at 01:01AM EDT

Hmm…
There's an Equestria L.A. now?
checks it out
Wait, it's not actually in L.A?
It's at the Anaheim Convention Center?
So, like, less than 5 miles from my house?

I may seriously have to consider this…
Never been to a convention before, but I know I would be most interested in the panels and the shops.
I feel like I want to wait until more actual guests are confirmed, but then tickets could sell out.

A dvd for the season finale i can watch anytime on youtube? HELL YEAH!!!

How basic…

You don't buy it for the features, or because of the show itself. You buy it to support the show with your money. On the whole, I think one of the many redeeming qualities of the fandom is that they are less prone to taking advantage of a good show than other fanbases. They want to support the show, so the problem of the diffusion of responsibility isn't in play as much here.

Ratings are not an exact science, and Hasbro doesn't make money on YouTube (you should be grateful that they haven't come down as hard on those videos as they can legally.) They make the most money on toy sales. And if you're like me and you're not interested in the paraphernalia, but you want to support the show in a way that matters, then you'd buy whatever episodes you could to support the show's existence.

With that in mind, I've already gotten "The Friendship Express" and I just purchased this DVD. It's more convenient to just pull it up on YouTube, and I still do that (I've only watched the DVD once), but if there are episodes that I can buy that aren't iTunes, then I intend on getting them when I have the money. One person doesn't make a difference, but I think the community and fans online are more than happy to give what money they could to show that we're thankful for the show and that we want the show to continue to a natural, quality end.

@Tristis Journeyer

I'll make sure to bring some!

@DeadParrot222

I'd think it would be delightful if I had the chance to meet you in person.

You know what?
Screw it.

I'm in.
See ya there, Dick!
Anyone else here have the potential to be attending Equestria L.A?
(Tara, Lauren, and John de Lancie all live in L.A, right? Could potentially be a good turn out!)

@Dogars
Right on.
I have 1080p rips of all the episodes saved to my hard drive but I'll still buy the DVDs just to support the show.
I think Hasbro has taken the attitude that Youtube popularity can lead to more brand awareness and thus more toy sales.
They must figure that that potential increase in sales is more than whatever they lose by having the episodes freely available (Itunes royalties, I guess.).
It's a very cool business model and I'd like to do what I can to help encourage it!

Romance Dungeon had about 99 ping, I assume the other would be the same if it appeared on my list. It wouldn't happen to be down would it?

If I could join it, it would be the first playable Brony server I've been on

Do you use those servers often? I tend to use the GamersUN NZ servers instead whenever I am on TF2

Generally speaking, we have two states: Empty and completely full. This is because the servers are tied to the Aussie Bronies Steam Group:

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/AussieBronies

And we regularly have "IMPROMPTU TF2 PARTY" events where everyone rushes to the server for several hours of TF2. And then everyone leaves, having had their fill.

But I just checked the server…the IP is correct and the server IS functioning so…try again I guess? Perhaps our server guy Risky was tinkering with it or something.

First playable Brony Server? Back in the old days there was Pony Legion AU and the Old AuB servers! How did you miss em?

@Popper: He doesn't mean be a massive dick to civvies, he means be a massive dick to confirmed hostile forces. But yeah, that rings true. Win by deceit and ruthlessness in combat. Break their backs and their morale.

Very true words. Win by deceit.

And as for batsitrep, be a massive dick?

And that turned out SOOO well for Hitler…

He meant be a massive dick on the battlefield, dickishness here entailing using tactics that might be considered less than fair or honorable such as retreating when you're at a clear disadvantage and taking malicious advantage of the element of surprise.

It can be debated whether Hitler's dickishness in generally ultimately helped or hindered him on the field of total war, that is insofar as diplomacy and politics plays into ones abilities to win war, but as far as the battlefield goes, the fact that he censored speech and killed jews is irrelevant.
