Relatively cold winter months I should say. It was 82 here on Sunday.

Quoting this onto the current page and might I also add a Fluffle picture?

This one has me kinda enamored, it's adorable and she almost looks like a cotton ball with a face!

Also, Merry Christmas to all!

This might be the best holiday special I have ever seen.

Also, doesn't bald(?) Flufflepuff kinda look like Pinkie?

Actually, if they were related somehow, it would explain a lot.

So my mom found out I am a brony this year and responded by buying me a bunch of pony swag for Christmas, which I may post pictures of later. For now though I'm spending most of my day away from the internet. Enjoy your holidays, everyone!

Guys. GUYS. PS4. Not to mention these two sexy beasts:

Sir, that's not Pony related…..At all.

To keep this pony related however, today my girlfriend got me a gift which she claims is half a gag gift and half a gift solely from the heart: Rainbow Dash boxers…..I don't feel comfortable taking a picture of them as there's a million pairs of Rainbow Dash Boxers out there but this pair is mine and it just feels wrong.

Cool gifts. I got an Ugly Twilight.

There once was an ugly pony

She was so ugly that everyone died. The end.

Ugly Twilight was a gift to me from myself. My sister was going to buy a Rainbow Dash for me, but her husband said no.

Under the mistletoe with Trixie. I win at Christmas.

Also, no pony merch for me this year – almost nobody I know IRL has caught on to the pony thing. I did get lots of cool books, though. Big thick ones, with nice rigid spines, and those soft quivering pages . . . oh . . . .

I think I might need to step out for a minute.

>tfw you didn't get any pony merch even though your family knows you like MLP

The curse of being a fundamentalist Baptist strikes again. It's worth it, though, for the potlucks.

All I got was a $400 gift card that got split between Steam and Amazon, cloths, and boots. It was still a good Christmas. Didn't have an ear infection or Swine flu like previous years, so It could have been a lot worse.

We don't celebrate Christmas as a holiday that involves presents over here. This entire December I got….. Nothing

So here you just have a Merry Christmas.

(Sobs) ;_;

Aww, poor RM. Here's a gift from me:

It's a brand new banhammer! I hope you like it.

Meanwhile, at Octavia's house…

I'm back from my visit to my dad's house so I may as well post the pony merch my mom got me for Christmas
First, she got me a pair of knee high Rainbow Dash socks:

The colors on the tail are weird and as you can see Dash gets stretched out and weird when I am wearing these cus calves are thicker than ankles, but still I do love knee high socks and these are very comfy, not to mention I dig the stripes and the blue on the toe and heel, so I'll give this one a pass

Next up is this badass Fluttershy shirt:

I was never really intending to get any brony shirts in my lifetime, but man do I love this shirt. First off, it's Fluttershy who is one of my favorite ponies. Second, my mom knew Fluttershy was one of my favorites (gee, I wonder if it's cus half of my small collection of MLP merch is Fluttershy related) which just makes it even more awesome. Third, the artwork is in an art nouveau style which is one of my favorite styles of art. The detailing is just beautiful. Fourth, this thing is super comfy and fits really well even though my mom accidentally ordered it in a male's size instead of female. So yeah, this is basically the best t-shirt gift I've ever gotten. It's nice when your parents get you.

She also got me a funko mystery pony box, which ended up being Lyra:

I wish I'd gotten a different pony since I just got the larger Lyra figure a couple weeks ago, but still I love this little thing. the sculpting is just as good if not better than its larger counterpart, and while I didn't expect the coat on these guys to be black the paint job is still superb. No weird scratches or smudges out of the box like the larger figures tend to have. She also has her cutie mark on both sides of her flank, which makes me very happy. I'm not too into the whole mystery box thing, so I most likely won't be buying any more of these things, but I still give these things a strong recommendation to anyone who cares about collecting mystery figures.

Among the non-pony related things I got for Christmas: A Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini (first smart phone, already love it), a DVD copy of Labyrinth, Amazon gift cards, Newbury Comics gift card (will most definitely go towards more Funko figures), pajamas with sushi print, various candies and chocolates, cash, CDs to play in my car, ear buds, a paint brush carrying kit, and a mystery gift from my sister that has not come in the mail yet.

I hope everyone else had a nice holiday, even if they didn't celebrate anything :3

Doesn't Holland the Netherlands have that thing where they put out their wooden shoes on their porch and they get filled with cookies and stuff, or I'm I just being stereotypical?

Three's a Company isn't going to have Weird Al in it, but will instead be:

Twilight is looking forward to some quality bonding time with Princess Cadance. But when a sick friend shows up needing Twilight’s attention, it looks like her plans for a peaceful visit with her sister-in-law will have to be put on hold.

However, we Have Word of God Hasbro Studios confirming that a Weird Al episode is still on the way, so it isn't terrible or anything.

This is like the third time this season the press releases have been incorrect (The premiere's title being wrong, Castle Mane-ia's title being wrong and now this). These press releases are becoming more unreliable than /mlp/.

@Episode we can't talk about without spoiler tags. Damn, I'm disappointed that we won't get to see….the thing in that episode. I'm not going into my documents to go copy and paste the spoiler tags right now so I'll leave it with this. Oh well, at least THAT episode is still confirmed….it just won't be in a few weeks.

Hey guys, since there hasn't been a post in 17 hours let's take part in a tradition held on several other inferior pony threads, "Come up with an idea for an episode" thread. I suppose I'll start off:

Okay, so the long awaited Daring Doo movie is finally released in theaters and of course naturally Twilight and Rainbow Dash are first in line to see it. They both watch the movie and leave, pretty displeased by the movie. Twilight hated it because they turned the movie into a (in her words) "Shallow, over the top, 'Blow everything up' action movie" and Rainbow Dash hated it because the girly actress they got to play Daring Doo wasn't "awesome" enough to play Daring Doo, and of course they shoehorned a lame romance into the film.

The critics hate the movie but it's a big success thanks to all the young colts wanting to see two and a half hours of things exploding, warranting a sequel to be made as fast as possible. Twilight and Dash with the help of Daring Doo herself (Who is pissed off about the fact that these aren't really her adventures and that she hasn't gotten any royalty checks from the movie) attempt to boycott the sequel. Twilight and Dash through about 6-8 minutes of time in the episode I didn't think of manage to speak with the producers of the film, telling them that what made Daring Doo such a beloved stories wasn't the needless explosions, racial stereotypes, toilet humor and shoehorned romance subplot that appeal only to teenage colts. But it was the sense of adventure, strong stories and a likable main character, this manages to make the producers change their mind and make the sequel closer to the book.

Cut to a year later the sequel is finally released, almost exactly like the book. Dash and Twilight are still disappointed over a few nitpicks, like how the movie never mentioned Daring Doo's long lost Aunt's father in law who gave Daring Doo her signature hat or how they never mentioned how Daring Doo was a vegetarian. Episode ends with Twilight Sparkle looking at Rainbow Dash and says "We're still going to be first in line for the third movie right?" in which Dash smiles and nods.

THE END. 11/10 best episode evur.

EDIT Well, looks like I DO have a reason to use Spoiler tags. Remember when that "Rainbow Power" thing was trademarked by Hasbro?

This is the outcome.

Not a big deal eh? Yeah, no. But to our ever reliable friends /mlp/ who are always right about everything apparently as that's what they tell us it's more than just a new "Brand"

Right click view to see the full thing, now this could be one of two things: One, 4chan (and all the other brony websites reading about this) are just overreacting over new toys. Or Two, it's happening. Your choice.

I think it's just overreacting to be honest, but at the same time I sure do love me some class 5 happening!!! IT'S ALL OVER!!!!! For like the 5th time this year…….

@ Fake Episode Synopsis:

Although initially excited, after her new baby brother was born, Sweetie Belle can't help but feel jealous that she is no longer the center of attention in the family, Sweetie Belle then feels she must preform a list of miraculous schemes and stunts to stay in the limelight, over the fear of being replaced.

Is it sad to say that Fluttershy is a more threatening Vampire than any of the cast of Twilight? All in all I thought it was a good episode, thought it was Merriwether William's episode considering the leak mentioned her as the writer, but the episode mentions Meghan McCarthy as the writer. Which is sad because I was ready to praise Merriwether Williams for this episode. Sigh. Also, that was a MUCH better Applejack song than "Racist Barn".

Also, Lol at Applejack being a one note pony at the beginning of the episode.

I love that boring applepone.

Well, I can see where all the budget went.

But seriously, folks, that was probably the best episode of the season so far. I expected the worst, but got the best, and that feels damn nice. Also, Pink-Dug is best arcade game.

That was a good episode. I enjoyed watching it, and the song was nice.
Also, Flutterbat was sorta cute, with her fluffy ears, little fangs and rough mane.

Only Sorta cute? I thought she was still adorable as Flutterbat. I'm glad the ending wasn't so predictable, from the song I thought it was going to be one of those Moralfag episodes where it turns out Fluttershy was right all along. But then it turns out Twi's spell turns Fluttershy into a fucking vampire and they have to deal with the most adorable vampire ever. And THEN it turns out Fluttershy was right all along. See, I thought it was going to be an 11 minute filler of trying to get the bats out of the orchard. But then Flutterbat comes in and now I want to see bat forms of all the other ponies which I suspect we'll have a full set of Mane 6 bats by the end of the day.

Did anyone catch Pinkie doing a redux of Winter Wrapup right after the main song?

Check it out here, at 5:51:

@Episode Writer

EQD just posted about a tweet by Meghan McCarthy confirming that Merriwether Williams actually was the author of the episode, and that the credit saying otherwise was an error. So there you go.

I thought the episode was all around good, though it would have been more appropriate as a Halloween-time one instead of post-Christmas. Everyone seems to be talking about Flutterbat though, and I just thought it looked kind of.. "eh". Really not all that cute to me.

Rarity though..

Rarity was perfect.

Then Godbless Merriwether Williams, that's the writer I know from The Chocolate Episode of Spongebob and Hearths Warming Eve.

Bleh, the new episode was O.K., I liked it better when it was called Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit It's pretty much the same story- but with horses. Now, I don't mind borrowing tropes or referencing other works (like Power Ponies did), but at some point it stops being an homage and starts being stealing. Another thing that bugged me is that there wasn't any reason for Applejack to have a change of heart. She didn't listen to the logic of letting the bats spit out the seeds to grow better trees in the first place, so how did Fluttershy turning into a vampire change anything? On the other hand, the animation was on par with the rest of the season, and Flutterbat was cute, so on the whole I'm left pretty indifferent about it. It's not great, not terrible-

When Fluttershy first posed the idea, AJ shot it down on the grounds that it would take too long to set up a "sanctuary" plot of trees and then move the bats there without having the majority of her crop devoured. During the Flutterbat issue, the bats were successfully brainwashed into not craving apples, so they finally had the time to try her suggestion (as for why they didn't do that immediately after the magic spell: AJ later admitted to looking at things short-sightedly at the time. Fluttershy's transformation must have made her re-evaluate things and go for the long-term solution).
Speaking of the primary issue in the episode, I really, really like how they handled it. AJ's side of things was presented believably and sympathetically, when they could have just as easily made everyone but Fluttershy into pretty much bloodthirsty idiots. Fluttershy's side, while being shown as the "right" solution, was also implicitly shown to be somewhat idealistic: notice in the song how the vampire bats become all fluffy and cutesy when she sings, despite them being exactly as ugly as AJ describes them even outside of the song. SHIT'S SO TACTFUL I LOVE IT AAAAAAAAAAA

@Jyron Stone
But the plan was never "temporarily brainwash the bats so we can build a sanctuary and then reverse the spell", the plan was just "keep the bats away from the apples". From AJ's standpoint everything was fixed when the bats stopped eating the orchard and Wallace Fluttershy was back to normal. If the bats being brainwashed adversely effected the ecosystem or the bats themselves it wasn't shown, nor did it backfire like the Parasprite spell did in SotC. I feel the episode was like a pony trying to convince another to try spinach, then they fight a dragon, then the pony tries spinach. The logic just doesn't follow.

This episode… Hmm…. I…. Huh… I'm not exactly sure how to think about this episode. I really did like the conflicts between Fluttershy and the rest of the group. I do wish the conflict was a little more even, though. I found it weird that the whole group was against Fluttershy by the end of the song. I would have expected Twilight and possibly Pinkie (for the sake of an even split between the group) to be more thoughtful of the long term outcome of more trees, but they didn't even give those two very much reason to join AJ's side other than for the plot convenience of Twilight being willing to do the spell to change the bats. Then again, having the entire group against Fluttershy's idea highlighted how important it would be for her to learn to say no. There was nobody there to say no for her, and so I guess that was important for the lesson of this episode. Speaking of lessons, I like that this episode had multiple lessons, and pretty good ones to boot. There were a couple other things that somewhat bugged me about this episode too, though. The twist of Flutterbat was pretty weird to me. I'm not saying it was a bad twist or that it didn't make any sense because it did, but the idea of Fluttershy becoming a bat was just so odd to me that I've found it slightly distracting although amusing at the same time. That's just personal preference, though. The last small nitpick I had is why AJ had to use her huge ass apple to attract Flutterbat when she could have used barrels of apples as bait like she did before? I suppose we could assume that all the apples in the orchard were dried up by this point, but if that was the case I wish it could have been made a little clearer. And yes, I realize this was supposed to be AJ's big development moment in the episode of realizing her friends are more important than her business, but it felt slightly unnecessary to me. But once again, I am being nitpicky about this episode. I actually feel this episode had a lot of charm to it and is probably an episode that will be remembered in this fandom for a while. I do love the new song to bits (I'm in a bit of a musical mood after seeing Frozen today with its amazing songs) it reminds me quite a lot of the mob song from Beauty and the Beast

And this is the type of song that one definitely doesn't expect from MLP. The visuals were fantastic and moved so quickly from gloomy and frightening to peaceful and charming. Also this episode has showed me that Merriwether is fantastic at writing Pinkie's character. To me, Pinkie and her humor really stole the show for me. So I guess all in all even though the turn of events left me scratching my head a little this was still an episode worth watching.

FRUIT BAT ROUND UP, FRUIT BAT ROUND UP!
This had all the essences of a great MLP episode! Interesting explorative plot, great dialog, real-world friendship dilemma rather then a silly one, references to past episodes and very little Spike screen time! Although "Smile" will always be my all-time favorite song, this one was a very close runner-up, it had a brilliant Broadway feel to it. Flutter-bat was cute but Rarity hazard-suit was just… perfect.

Tis' a great hazard suit, Walter White and Gordon Freeman would be proud. As for the ending, I thought it could have been a reference to Michael Jackson's Thriller. I don't know if it will actually be apart of a future plot or not, I'd certainly hope so!

Speaking of the primary issue in the episode, I really, really like how they handled it. AJ’s side of things was presented believably and sympathetically, when they could have just as easily made everyone but Fluttershy into pretty much bloodthirsty idiots. Fluttershy’s side, while being shown as the “right” solution, was also implicitly shown to be somewhat idealistic: notice in the song how the vampire bats become all fluffy and cutesy when she sings, despite them being exactly as ugly as AJ describes them even outside of the song. You know, that was actually one of my only issues with this episode. Both Applejack and Fluttershy had problems with their plans, yet Applejack is the only one who needed to apologize at the end. I mean, I know Fluttershy was right after all, and that's fine, but it just feels like her moral of "Don't get pressured into things if you don't think they're right" could just as easily be applied to Applejack's arguement, which brings it more to "Don't get pressured into things unless you're wrong, which you might be."

I don't know, maybe I'm just spouting rubbish. I am glad that nobody was shown as utterly wrong, but unless Fluttershy is 100% guaranteed to be right all the time and the mane cast should just listen to her to avoid literally all conflict, I feel like the peer pressure moral wasn't a perfect fit. Feel free to argue.

Other than that, the episode was great. Lots of good jokes, some long-awaited Applesauce and Fluttershutter interaction, everyone seemed in-character and Flutterbat's design was adorable as a flutterbat out of hell all hell. Also, the little fang at the end was cool… I hope they keep it as a part of her build from now on. I mean, it's unlikely they would bother remembering such a small detail, but this is the season of delicious, delicious status quo change.

Edit: My first page get! About damn time. I'm going to post Flutterbat to watch over this page with her mighty brooding powers!
.gif!

Double edit: Well, it looks like the exclaimation point at the end of this episode's title is exploderising the embed. Plan B.
