Directly or indirectly, this site must influence the strength of memes and how they move, but how much? Is the site itself a forced meme?

The site is not a meme just as youtube and 4chan arent memes. It definitely affects movement as my entire school loves KYM and im like their meme advice giver when they have a question.

I hope not.

It wuld be like Time Life influencing celebrities and historical events.

Of course we have an influence. Every instance of a meme propagates that meme. Dramatica and Uncyclopedia also influence the spread of their memes.

What makes KYM different is that you must provide proof of genuine user interest. The burden of proof lies on the person who submits the meme. It is not in our interests to help people spread their memes. We prefer for people to wait until the meme has a verifiable search trend, or at least links to sightings of it "in the wild" prior to submitting the meme.

Where things become difficult is when a meme is low on views but high on instances. At that point it basically might be a meme, but when it gets posted here, the views are "artificially" boosted.
