Because it is no meme.

But it is most definitely a viral video.

I just can't find any remixes, pardoies, mutations and such.

Lots of reuploads, pretty decent viewcounts.
The video as it is, is an awesome WTF video. As for the lack of derivatives: I think most people see the video, are compelled to share it, but don't immediately see how to improve upon it. There's nothing about the video that compels the viewer to say "oh exploitable! I know what to do with this!" Instead people just go "OMG WTF look at this!"

When the original video (and exact copies of it) goes viral but fails to mutate, it is distinctly a viral video and not worth classifying as a meme.

Viral from earlier last year (my sister forwarded it to me back in June) that seemed to make a resurgence (eBaums?) last month. I've seen several of these uploaded under 'smoking man shower' 'crazy man shower' etc.

I went back and looked for the copies and found that Frank Lawson (Lia Dawson) made a copyright claim on one of the instances of this video last month:

I wonder what the viewcounts on that instance was. :-/

Interesting. The bogus copyrights trolls are at it again.

sigh…..i dream of a day when copyrights made more sense.
