seriously. now is this bowsette different from any other big-tiddies-anime-grill?
the internet is full of them. in every single medium and corner of the internet.
hell, some of the anime/vidya characters were created to be sexual and have an alluring backstory from their inception
so how come bowsette got this massive popularity while others all lie in mediocrity?

granted, i like crown that has eyes that turns everything it touches into a princess, but the super-crown already is a seprate meme at this point.

is it because it's related to Mario? is it because all mario fans secretely wanted to bang princess peach for 30 years already and now the finally feel they have a chance this fantasy is logical?

help me out here please.

because Nintendo, that's why, you noticed how it's usually the Nintendo fanbase forcing their waifus all over the place whenever there's a release or significant event?

I have no idea tbh, I guess because everyone already liked Bowser as a character because of his goofy personality, and all sudden turning him into something they'd fuck, I guess magic just happens.

Or maybe everyone's fetish is suddenly big titty female with horns, a shell, and fangs, idk.

It also appeals to Furries, Transgender people, rule 63 fanatics, and even gay people to some extent, so there's that.

Because Bowser is the most popular villain in videogames history and see him as a sexualized anime girl vastly increased its popularity,I guess this is the appeal.

It's just the flavor of the month waifu, give it some time and people will eventually forget about it.

This is the only actual answer in the thread

On a related note, the anime community experiences this roughly every 12 weeks

The more things be changin', the more they be stayin' tha same

But this case seems to be… special, never in my life have I seen a waifu spread this much in so little time.

is it because it's related to Mario?

It's a combination of this (a large, strong fandom), the ease at which the R63 can spread thanks to the canon crown plot device compared to normal R63 fanart, and the fact it's an evil character (evil females are usually considered sexy). Smash them all together and you get a rapidly expanding meme character.

No one here is actually qualified to answer that question satisfactorily since the trend itself began in Japan by Japanese artists once many of them weighed in, and trying to understand Japan's inner machinations is the same as trying to understand their commercials, so all you will get here is speculations and self-serving answers.

how about bug waifu next? that aren't just moths.

If you search deep enough, you gonna find out eventually.

This kinda reminds me of the "original" """super crown""" waifu, there was this tiny scuttlebug fandom that happened in the 0.5x A presses fiesta.

Now, would that count as an arachnid because it looks like a spider (well not in this picture at least) or a bug because "scuttleBUG", well… you tell me.

I'd say it's a combination of these.

Simply put you have a well known villain from a beloved franchise and an attractive woman(with optional sexualization). Add in personality/personality changes (which accentuates/enhances her attractiveness) and it's no surprise her popularity. Bowsette also has a lot of pleasing traits such as a dominant personality(usually), horns, dark skin(I think this definitely helped her initial explosion), height and fangs.

Artists love a good waifu/oc and so does the anime and video game communities.

With all that said, I think lumping bowsette into some sort of "generic big tiddy girl" category is a bit of a disservice to her design. I also don't think being a "waifu of the month" is necessarily a bad thing. Not much different from ordinary waifus.
