I personally don't mind sponsered videos as long as it's done at the beginning at the video and lasts no longer than 30 seconds.

just use ublock origin lol
I accept it mainly cause Youtube has been really shitty lately with ad-revenue stuff. So people have to turn to stuff like being sponsored just so they can have some guaranteed revenue to keep the show running.
Well, I too would like to return to the old days where most people only did youtube videos for the enjoyment of it or just to become famous.
But even then (even more with the stupid inconsistent ad-revenue system that youtube has been doing), I guess a small sponsor on your video is a small price to pay for a better and more frequent quality content that youtubers give you.
Just be glad the FTC started to crack down on "hidden" sponsorships and you can just skip the first two minutes of a video when it starts with "This video is sponsored by…" as they shill whatever shit they've been paid to shill.
Personally, I've never really understood how that kind of marketing is supposed to work. How is interrupting a video I'm watching to talk about a product in an incredibly artificial and clearly "this is a script and not what I actually think" way that, 97% of the time, has nothing to do with the video itself supposed to make me want to buy that product?
I've seen a handful of channels who have done sponsorship in a way that you actually want to watch it. But for every channel that does it creatively there are twenty that don't. Sponsors themselves are largely to blame as they often give too strict guidelines for content creators.
I think the only times I bother watching a sponsored part of a video are UrinatingTree's SeatGeek bits (because he actually puts effort into them depending on the topic) and whenever Pan Pizza shills something (because he's still a snarky asshole about it).
I guess youtubers don't need to eat.
wow, so if people start using adblock plus then youtube will force youtuber that are popular to do sponsored ads, that sucks we can't block that, OH WAIT maybe we can.
just make a new adblock and make it delete the 30 second or how ever long the sponsor is in the video, it may crop the video or reduce video time but it definitely the new way to block those annoying adverts
I find it funny Youtube is not working now after this.
How dare YouTubers want to make a living out of something they love doing while at the same time giving you free content to watch, fuck them, am I right?
The thing is, you can do the sponsorship creatively. See Terrible Writing Advice channel. You actually sometimes want to watch sponsorship clips.
