So I haven't been on this site for a full month yet, and I'm 9th on the monthly comment leaderboards, second on daily(only just dropped to second, was first for a while), and 9th on weekly. Wow. I've actually been lurking on the site since early 2016. I came here from the "derp" entry, after I randomly googled "derp" because I was a dumb tween. Laughed myself silly at the video, took me 2 weeks to not find it hysterical. I honestly have to say this site means a lot to me. Without it, I never would have discovered TV Tropes. Without TV Tropes, I never would have discovered….. a lot of things, the most notable being Invader Zim, South Park(well, maybe I would have discovered it anyway), almost every webcomic I've ever read, and most importantly Eddsworld(huge inspiration). I can genuinely say this site changed my life for the better.

Putting the "me" in "meme", or a self-centered discussion about how KYM changed my life for the better.

Since we're doing this,
I've found a large amounts of art and "art" through kym. I'd say it accounts for 80-90% of the artists I discover on art websites and social media during some months. I've discovered so many artists I particularly love from here.
Same goes for anime and video games, though to a much smaller extent. If kym suddenly disappeared there'd definitely be something of a void to fill for me.
I'd also like to say that I discovered Homestuck and the SCP Foundation through TVTropes. Basically, if it's web-based media, I most likely discovered it through TVTropes, or if not TVTropes, here or on YouTube.
