Well, its happened, my school has finally blocked KYM on the school computers. This is a sad day… but we will move on with the power of proxy. They cant stop the power of the internets that easily…

That sucks. :c Don't they know that KYM is of great educational importance? Memes are serious busin- I mean, knowledge.

Mine has yet to block it, but i'm one of the 3 people who get on it though.

My fiend Amanda is a teacher at my school. I told her to request keeping the site up because it's very educational. She did it for me. KYM lives on.

My school has no idea that KYM even exists. So, I can go on it whenever I'm in school.
Unfortunately I'm not on computers much in school :-(

Oh, I forgot about that trick! I used to browse the web at work in Spanish whenever I couldn't get to a web site.

You're lucky your school doesn't have a wall system that tracks every website that every kid uses at school. Thats why I had to have a teacher keep the site up. Regardless the faculty will find out about sites.

My School blocked the BBC.

I'm at university now, but when I was in high school they blocked DeviantArt.

Our multimedia teacher got all flustered because that was where she downloaded all her brushes for Photoshop.

She tried to petition for it back, but to no avail. :c

The only sites blocked from my school are 4chan and porn sites with names based of youtube.

I think its the county that blocks the Web sites, not the schools.

The filtering software at my work (the one where I sued to surf in Spanish) used to block according to keywords. This meant I could freely download porn in foreign language sites, but couldn't watch "Teen Girl Squad" episodes on HomestarRunner.

I love some of the tags that my school gives websites, such as "Obscene/tasteless" or the occasional "humor"… really guys?

Same thing happened to me. No more KYM at school. F*cking teachers… how do they work?!

They only blocked 4chan at my school. One of the teachers is fairly internet savvy at 62. This was way before Operation Payback, mind you.

Oh gosh….is your school using the Barracuda Web Filter? Mine is! My teachers also use something that makes it hard for me to get on KYM: LANSchool. I'd get LANSchool to counter it, but then i'd get in BIG trouble.

Well I enjoy reading it for the news, and a lot of students use it for reports, its just stupid that a filter is doing more harm than good on the internet.

Ah when I was still atending school, My school blocked about every single website the only unblocked one was 4chan I don't see why they bother blocking sites when kids are just gunna find a way to bypass it anyways,
