On March 22nd, 2024, the horror movie Late Night With The Devil premiered in theaters in the United States. In the movie, all audience members are wearing Halloween costumes, including a guy in a skeleton outfit and mask.

On April 24th, this extra character was used as a reaction image on X^[1] by user @chelssMichellee, who added the caption "me in the group chat but never actually participating in any conversation," garnering over 26,000 likes and 3,500 reposts in a day (shown below).
