I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I'm desperate.
Is there anyone out there who has experience with cats and fleas? I have three cats, and they've all had fleas for 3 months now. I've already been bitten a few times, and I'm sure the cats don't like them as much as I do. They've each been given 3 doses of frontline so far, (once a month) and they've had thorough flea baths, and I fog bombed the house with bombs that say the kill fleas. We comb them with a flea comb every day, and we vacuum as much as possible! AND THEY STILL WON'T DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! D:< Am I doin it rite? or am I missing something?…I'VE BEEN SPOTTED! OH NO! THEY'RE EATING MY COMPUTER! HALP!!!!! TT_TT

Flea collars, weekly baths, flea bathe once a month, keep them inside, and use ant traps to catch some unattached ones. Make sure the materials you use are approved to kill fleas, ticks, AND eggs, otherwise they will not leave.
Two more things.
1. Flea powder. Put the stuff on all your carpets, rugs and mats.
2. Desu. You need more of it.

Flea collars… I'll try that. I head they didn't work, but hey. it's worth a shot. Ant traps are another good idea. I have some ant spray that's safe for pets. should I put that down too? WEEKLY BATHS?!? If the fleas don't kill me, my mainecoon probably will… O_O

Is that enough?

The flea collars don't help to kill them much, but it keeps them away rather well. The ant spray is worth a shot, though it may not work. But if it's pet safe, then there's really no harm in trying. And yes, a weekly bath until the major flea problem dissipates.
I had an American Short-hair that I had to shave and bath twice a day due to a rash and flea/lice attack.
Well, I suppose a few flesh wounds are worth it. It is kinda a "war" after all. I just gave my cats a bath after you commented, and I realized what we were doing wrong last time; first, you have to give them a BATH. Not a shower, or a dunk, a bonafide bath, with water up to their shoulders. I did that, and I must have killed at least 50 fleas! Second, like you said, you have to do it weekly.
Above all, thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is the first time I've actually seen progress, and I really think this could work! :D Please accept this gift:

I'm surprised the Frontline didn't work; that's the stuff like Advantix, right? I used that stuff twice on my cats and they never had fleas again.
But for more suggestions: In addition to various things you'd buy at the pet store, I know of two tricks that will be helpful, although probably won't solve the problem on their own. First, fleas don't like the smell of eucalyptus; if you live somewhere near some eucalyptus trees, go gather a bunch of leaves and spread them around your house. Underneath the sofa and in the sofa, beneath the cushions, put them under beds (especially, if you have one, the cat's bed) essentially just spread them under any pieces of furniture your cat likes to sit on. The fleas will be very unhappy, and your house will smell like eucalyptus, which I think is a great thing. Secondly, vacuum your carpets daily, and be thorough. After you've vacuumed, sprinkle salt on the carpet. I've been told that this helps kill the flea eggs that are probably there.
Oh, and how could I forget? These things are amazing, and really work (I don't think the brand matters, look for whatever they have at a local store). We got one for an ant problem, but essentially it somehow drives away all creatures rat-size or smaller. (If you have a pet rat, hamster or such, you can't use one of these, it'll drive them crazy.) I mentioned at the beginning of the post that my cats never had fleas again? This actually may have been a big part of why. We had problems with ants, spiders, fleas, cockroaches, and mice; they all went away.

Well, our scientific analysis has determined that these are indeed, "super fleas"
I tried getting my mom to use salt, but she said, "no that's stupid" __
I've heard of "those" before. I've never really tried them, but I'm willing. One thing… I have a guinea pig. They're a little bit bigger than rats… will he be effected?

Kick it in the stomata with a fire axe. Repeat if necessary.
I've had this problem before. We ripped out the carpet, threw it away, got flea and tick collars for the pets, and moved. Problem solved.

I don't know about guinea pigs, you'd probably have to do some research. If your home is two-story, and the flea problem is more prevalent on one floor than another, you could put the device on the floor with the problem and the guinea pig on the other, I think.
