Portland area here. Never been to Reno, honestly don't plan to. Farthest I've gone on west coast is like… Seattle and Sacramento.

I'm a Cali boy (my town's smack dab between San Fran and Sacramento) but I'm currently yucking it up in the post-apocalyptic world of Reno to get my edumacation.

I dunno. I moved here from Louisiana, the only thing I felt change was the climate. I love the dry weather over that humid crap.

Every town has its stigma. Reno is no exception.

At times it can be depressing. South Rock, 4th st., ….Galletti, all make me sad when driving through them. There are literal hell holes here, but still, there's lots this town has to offer.

I'd never seen a hot air balloon before I got here. The air races are awesome. All the festivals-Hot August Nights, Rib cook-off, Street Vibrations…. Are all wonderful events I'd never experienced before.

So I've come to love Reno, both the good and the bad.

Nah. It ain't that bad. Even Stead and Sun Valley aren't too bad and there considered the ghetto. UNR is pretty sweet from what I've seen. I've been on the construction sites. They just finished the new clubhouse and have several new buildings under construction. As stated before, 4th Street is pretty bad. Some of those motels house some pretty shady buisness.

Just practice good traveling etiquette – tavel in groups.

I live off 4th lmfao… but yeah the motels are a no-go, idk why you'd ever have to go to a motel though. All sorts of hardcore drug addicts in them.

idk about a random rape district but there's definitely a hooker district and a lot of them are not there willingly. I wouldn't walk around downtown at night by myself or anything but going to places like the farmer's market or food trucks during the day/afternoon is no problem. The real concern is that they just opened a Dunkin Donuts in Sparks, but I can't fucking find it. idk what back ass corner of the Legends they're hiding it in but I tried for at least 7 minutes and couldn't find it.

Its by target in a new strip mall. It's not actually in the Legends compound.

And yeah, there is probably a higher rate of unwilling prostitution here than other places, but I hear Clarke county is worse with that problem.
