@Erwinator

Whenever I listen to 403 Forbiddena, I just imagine that it's what Dragonforce would sound like if Herman Li was singing. XD

Anyways, it's pretty obvious what my favorite band is. The real reason, though is "Say it Ain't So." I connected with that song on such a huge level. The rest is history. =3

DJ Shadow

It was my first day in photo class in my sophomore year of high school. Our teacher had us split into groups and said "get to know the five people at your table well because you'll be judging each other's work for the rest of the year." So the first thing someone brought up was "what kind of music do you listen to?"
I went on and on about scratch artists like DJ Q-Bert and trance acts like the Platypus Sound System. Then this dude in my group who was a senior, I forget his name, asked me "Have you ever heard DJ Shadow?"
"no."
"Listen to DJ Shadow. It'll change your life."
I didn't think much of it, thinking, "whatever. I know what I like."
The next day he gave me a burned copy of Endtroducing.
He was right. To this day, Endtroducing is one of my favorite albums ever, and DJ Shadow is one of my favorite artists. I listen to a lot of different styles of music, but DJ Shadow's beats really made a mark on my taste from that point onward. When I first heard the album, it was already 4 years old, but it's become totally timeless to me.

I saw him play at First Ave in Minneapolis on my 18th birthday as part of his tour for The Private Press in 2002. The show was really low-key, and it seemed like the rest of the crowd had no clue who he was. Either that, or they just didn't idolize him like I did. The set was amazing, either way.

My two faves are Asian Kung-Fu Generation and Bump of Chicken.
But Bump of Chicken wins by a hair.

They are so cool and smexy-like. Especially the second one from the right. He's the lead singer and I think his voice is just perfect. >3< Their songs are mostly sad but also very deep and it's really quite satisfying when you start to understand the songs.

Laugh Maker
"With our backs against each other with the door between us
Crying voices mixed with hiccups
Hugging our knees with our backs against each other
Completely tired out crying voices
Do you still intend to make me laugh, Laugh Maker?
Its the only thing I live for
If I don't make you laugh I can't go home"

Dude from what I've heard of DJ Shadow, amazing. Nuf said.
oh the TMBG thing was a joke. [although they are pretty awesome]
I really will go for any type of music. I think it comes from being a musician, Percussionist/Composer/Arranger.

DJ Shadow rocks. I like the classic hip hop and 20s vibe. Bands like RJD2 and Wax tailor. Really classy stuff.

favorite songs from DJ Shadow would be fixed Income and Mongrel meets his maker. I haven't listened to these guys in a long time.

You are awesome chris

definitely agree DJ Shadow is dollar sign dollar sign dollar sign. Saw him at an outdoor venue a year ago, it was raining lots and if i remember correctly, he played jimi hendrix remix on a turntable guitar(?). it was epic.

On second thought, I think it'd be easier if I just posted my Last.fm profile.

There you go. Be vigilant!

Mastodon, Tool, Meshuggah, and Cannibal Corpse win the "I Like All of Their Work" awards.

Also epic are King Crimson, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Jefferson Airplane, Rage Against the Machine, Dead Kennedeys, Dethklok, Tenacious D, Grateful Dead, and more.
