I don't know if people really are that ignorant in general, but everytime I go looking for world history knowledge on Google there's always a list that contains 1-4 painfully dumb questions barely related to the topic I typed on the search bar. There's plenty to choose from, but this one is probably one of the dumbest Q/A section I've seen:
You have no idea how hard I facepalmed. How are you even supposed to answer "who discovered China"?
