Dear everyone,

I just started going out with a girl who doesn't follow mems (I know, what am I even doing? But she's cute and smart).

I would like to make a presentation about the history of memes, maybe with a timeline and some theory behind it.

Is there any resource available here or elsewhere on meme history?? :)

Honestly, I don't think there is, as this phenomena has only been going on for a few decades or so; so we're still in the "Living History" part; where research has only really started to take off and nothing to in depth has been done on it so far.

If you want to go over the theory side, you be best looking up Memetics instead, as that's the psychology part behind this nonsense.

But if you want to introduce your girl to memes, the best thing you can do lad is just sit down together and browse the new image page, talk to each other about the ones you find interesting and why you don't like the other ones.

After you've done that for a few minutes, start searching for fandoms or activities she's interested in and browsing through the memes that are related to that.

Don't do a presentation, you'll just bore her socks off.
