[Riff-Raff] IRC moments

I loved this site, used it since I was 15, loved posting loved commenting loved interacting. It's been a nice thing for me that makes me happy and gives me something to look forward to doing every day, from covering events like the Reddit Blackout to posting about Bernie Sanders. Now I can no longer enjoy it, because the people running it will insult and openly ridicule anyone who disagrees with them.

By all means, let me be the 9/11 of KYM. If this is what KYM stands for, I don't want it to exist.

I think your problem here is that you took Riff-Raff and the IRC a litte too seriously. I know they can be a little harsh, but I don't think expecting everyone to accommodate to you instead of you accommodating to them is right.

You are free to ignore those parts of KYM until you feel that you are able to handle their insults and shitposting

I will not ignore hate of any kind. It should be confronted, put in the spot light, and dispersed. It is wrong and KnowYourMeme's public endorsement of this hatred is wrong.

Ignorance is the gateway to hate, as demonstrated by the use of an entire thread to hate on a user and the use of mod powers to suspend accounts for 3 hours for shits and giggles. Power should not be taken so lightly. It should be used sparingly and effectively only toward people whom truly deserve it. Not for hating on people, and certainly not on the whistleblowers pointing out their misuse of mod abilities.

Okay, I'll note that, there should absolutely be no fun allowed in the Riff-Raff subforum of Fun! If you want to take action, for last friggin time, avoid Riff-Raff and the IRC, you'll only find pain and suffering (at least to you) there. Like I said, you should accommodate to others, instead of everyone accommodating to you.

Knowing a decent amount of RR and the IRC, don't expect them to change anytime soon. Seriously dude, asking them to change is like asking a mountain to move out of the way.

Rules are not mountains. They are often arbitrary words set up by people far too quickly. They need to change their rules, they are not up to par.

I can actually get behind these complaints.

For most of my teenage life, I thought Washington D.C. was located in the state of Washington.

I mean, the current situation is like having New York City located in the state of Wisconsin or something.
