To be honest I'm not sure what's supposed to be cringey here. The video trying to make it look like this is a big deal, or the fact Sanders made a goof that, lets be honest, anyone could have made. When it comes to males of Middle Eastern descent specifically, unless they're wearing a turban (which is a common trait in the Sikh religion), I usually can't tell if they're Muslim, Hindu, or "none of the above." Before I stopped going there because of personal reasons, the youth director at my mother's baptist church is a 100% Indian man, but unless you knew that about him chances are good complete strangers might assume he's Muslim or Hindu based on his ethnic background alone.
As annoying as stereotyping can be, lets face it, we all do it to some extent.
