Best part about living by myself is that there's no one here to judge me for sobbing at my computer screen.

Noragami killiiinnnn meeeeeeeee.
Shoulda waited for HQ to be out before I watched it so I could instantly distract myself with fluff.

@bullet rabid

She was also the voice actress of Anna in Shimoneta and Cthuga from Nyarko crawling caos. Two characters I really liked. She will be missed.

^ It was confirmed not too long ago, not exactly sure on the date

Also, Boku No Hero Academia is being animated by Studio Bones (Soul Eater, both Fullmetal Alchemist adaptations)

On a side note, saw the Berserk movies and anime, none of them do justice to the manga, the movies are a Cgi-fest and the anime while following closer it's a bit clunky… But they're still enjoyable, I do love the soundtracks and the anime opening

PUT YOUR GRASSES ON, NOTHING WILL BE WONG!

I can totally see Boku no Hero animated like Soul Eater

One Punch Man somehow manages to keep getting better. I'm so glad all my concerns proved to be wrong because the show is approaching TTGL levels of awesome (it's not there yet, and I don't know if it ever will be, but it's approaching it at the very least).

Also, the full version of the OP was released and it's just as fucking awesome as the show.

Speaking of One Punch Man, it seems each DVD/BD volume release will include a 10-minute OVA with an original story by ONE, I'm hyped becauseit was confirmed they will animate Boros fight, looking forward to that so much

By the way, Boku no Hero Academia anime teaser

So… I finished this oldie that's pretty much forgotten

And I thought it was pretty great. It's a Spaghetti Western set in the East with an episodic formula that works because of character development, continuity, and great twists, fight scenes flowed smoothly and were exciting, the crew did their research when they worked on the show so the experience feels authentic when it wants to b, voice acting was great, it's a mature-rated show that features prostitution, drug trafficking, gang wars, etc but it wasn't edgy and shitdark, Ending was a bit meh, but finale had me on the edge of my seat… So uhm yeah I guess I really liked this.

I don't hang around otaku communities so I'm not really in the know which obscure anime is any good. So I don't know where to start looking for Anime more of this style. All I know is Samurai Champloo's director was the director of Cowboy Beebop but I'm looking for something more recent I guess. So anime fans, any recommendations?

On a different note, I guess I'm watching One-Punch Man and Haikyuu now since my sisters are into it. I don't have much to say about the latter, it's okay I guess, One-Punch Man has a unique concept and it's over the top but I think I need to see more episodes before I have a general opinion

If you like samurai anime then i would recommend both Afro Samurai and Sword of the Stranger

Afro Samurai doesn't have the greatest plot but it has some of the best fight cinematography and a great soundtrack

Sword of the Stranger looks absolutely beautiful and has really intense fight scenes and a great story line

here's the synopsis for both series

Sword of the Stranger:
The story is set in the Sengoku period. A rounin called Nanashi (meaning "nameless") saves a young boy named Kotarou at an abandoned temple. Kotarou has no family, is pursued by a mysterious militia organization from China, and hires Nanashi as his bodyguard. Amongst the men who pursue Kotarou is a man called Rarou, a skilled warrior with blond hair and blue eyes. He obeys an old man called Byakuran and is a member of the Chinese militia. Unlike his companions in the militia, he isn't serving any Emperor and just wants to fight with the strong.

Afro Samurai:
After watching his father die in a duel against an unbeatable villain known only as "Justice," young Afro fixes his life on the study of swords and revenge. The tale of Afro Samurai is one of bloody hardship and pain. Along his solitary path of revenge for his murdered father, he sheds no tears & knows no love. Forever chased by powerful enemies in a lawless technology-speckled dystopia, he evades bullets and blade to reach his final prey: a man who will not die. But Afro will reach his quarry--even if it means painting a road of blood and brains from here to the bitter inevitable end.

here's some trailers too

and both the series have really good English dubs too if you were wondering

So Wan Pan Maru right? So how does the ranking-up go? Can you only rank up if you are first position of said rank? Does that mean Saitama can only get to rank 1 of Class-B if he fights Hurricane or if Hurricane dies?

Honestly I'm not sure how I feel about another Madoka Magica movie.

Call me crazy, but I really loved the way the series ended with the third movie. It was the biggest "fuck you" to the love conquers all trope I've ever seen, which is prevalent in just about anything and is something I'm kinda sick and tired of it. I mean seriously, Homura straight up says she's a literal demon now and it's all because of love. If that isn't just shitting all over the love conquers all trope then I don't know what is.

I suppose as long as they don't mess with the ending of the movie at all I'll be fine with it. Maybe make it a prequel or something, I don't know. The other possibility that I wouldn't mind is if it tears apart any other prevalent trope, such as "You can do anything if you believe hard enough!"

I am also skeptical of a continuation to Madoka Magica, but for entirely different reasons. One of the things I liked about the series was that it told a satisfyingly self-contained story. By the end of the last episode, all the character arcs and overall story had had been effectively explored and completed. Madoka Magica didn't need to continue, because it was done. Everything since then has lacked the charm of the original and just muddles an otherwise excellent story.

I'd still love to see because I'm curious about the consequences of the 3rd movies ending, since we have no idea of how the universe works after what happens, plus I would love to see Madoka regain her power, in case you have not noticed, I'm not too fond on what Homura did

He does make alot of good points, I hated rebellion's ending for the same reason I hate the halo games after 4, it fucked up the perfect ending, sure it wasn't the happiest ending, but it tied up every loose end in terms of character growth and narrative, then the ending happened, I hope this new movie fixes what happened

THIS SEASON, AND THUS ALSO THE YEAR, IS NOW OVER, I RETURN TO MAKE MY RANKINGS:

For the season:

  • Noragami – I would LOVE to give the top spot to the obvious choice, but I'm afraid I cannot. I loved the original Noragami, but this season has been running laps around it. Literally every episode feels as though it could be one of the last few, from episode 1 the stakes are set to max and it never feels like it drops. If you haven't seen season 1, it's worth getting through to watch this.
  • Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans – For my first Gundam show, I'm glad I started here. This show has been a joy to watch from start to finish. It really is just a far superior version of Aldnoah, with fantastic characters (Mika top husbando 2015) that are just a joy to watch. Can't recommend enough
  • One Punch Man – NOW back to the obvious top spot, so obvious I won't even linger on it.
  • Osomatsu-San – The existence of this show still baffles me, there is no way this show should be as hilarious as it is. If you enjoy Gintama, you will love this. It's a shame the amazing first episode was taken down.
  • Concrete Revolutio – I enjoyed the first few episodes, but I can admit they weren't great. As of late though, this show has been fantastic. It's like, the textbook definition of my kind of thing, something confusing at first glance, but slowly makes sense the more you watch and piece together. Can't wait for season 2
  • Ushio and Tora – the first half was okay, but now the story kicked in it's gotten so so much better. Well directed and really entertaining.
  • Owarimonogatari – For Monogatari, it was great. Probably my least favorite full season this side of Nisemonogatari, but hell if Shinobu Mail didn't end the show with a bang.
  • Gintama – It's Gintama
  • Seraph of The End – The first season of Seraph was hit or miss, but this season was completely awesome from start to finish, with a way more exciting story and WAY better animation. Also it's gay as fuck, like, easily the gayest non-yaoi show outside of Free!, easily.
  • Kindaichi – I'm the only one who cares about Kindaichi so moving on
  • The Perfect Insider – This show jumped the shark HARD but at least it was still fun to watch! Also still damn pretty
  • Young Black Jack – this is the first show on the list I actively dislike. "We're doing a prequel to a beloved Tezuka manga! How should we approach this?" "I know, turn the Fujoshi dial up to MAX". This show was just, anti-fun.
  • Beautiful Bones – This is the only show this season I had to drop. Good God this show was boring and awful. If you're going to have a mystery show, actually have a mystery. Or at least have likeable protagonists.

As for the year:

1) Kekkai Sensen (obviously)
2) Durarara x2 (Heavy bias aside, I friggin loved the second season, almost as much as season 1)
3) Maria the Virgin Witch (A show that came completely out of left field, and still mega underrated)
4) Noragami (Damn that pacing)
5) Gundam IBO (Mika best husbando 2015)
6) Yurikuma Arashi (damn those lesbians)
7) OPM (Most people's #1 at #7, sorry OPM)
8) Death Parade (That Op tho)
9) Osomatsu-San (Sextuplets ftw)
10) Concrete Revolutio (A.K.A. Anime Watchmen)

Honorable mention to Baby Steps 2, the sports show to beat all sports shows. Best OP goes to Durarara x2 Ten, best ED goes to Kekkai, best season was Fall. Damn good year for anime, next year so far also has potential. I will be basing my opinion of next year solely based on how the Ace Attorney anime turns out.

Short list of anime I'm looking forward to in the next season:

  • Divine Gate- Not because I'm familiar with that franchise or anything, but the game it's based off makes heavy use of crossovers like from Fate or Date A Live, so if said crossovers make it into the animation it would be amazing.
  • Musaigen no Phantom World- The main character can summon his drawings to life. Do I need to freaking explain why I already love this anime just for that?
  • Hai to Gensou no Grimgar- It's a D&D/Tower of Druaga Esq high fantasy anime without any harem bullshit like certain other anime. I'm all onboard.
  • Prince of Stride- I've never been too into the Prince of Tennis series, but I can get behind a parkour racer.

And the season after that…

  • Ace Attorney- I was BORN READY for this.
  • Diamond is Unbreakable- Doesn't even need words. It's Jojo.
  • Bakuon!!- Anime about Moeblobs on Motorcycles. Megusta.

One Punch Man was f*cking fantastic, Madhouse delivered, I got all pumped up when the opening started playing during the fight, I enjoyed this show so much, definitely one of my all time favorites let's hope they get to animate Garou's arc as well, and there's also some OVA's left

Looking forward 2016, it will have the Ace Attorney anime which has solid voice acting cast and I'm sure it will be damn good, the adaptation of Mob Psycho 100 (Manga by the same author of One Punch Man) and there's also JoJo part 4, since the general is dead, I'm posting it here, if you haven't seen it, here's the Diamond is Unbreakable preview

Narrator: 1999, Japan. M prefecture, S city, Morioh town. Originally serving as a bedroom suburb for S-city, it has developed at a rapid pace since the late 1980s.
Narrator: The town has a population of 58,713. This town, which at first glance had nothing unusual about it, experienced a bizarre incident. 81 missing persons since the start of 1999. Far more than would be common in any other town like it in Japan.
Narrator: This story is about that town.
Jōsuke: Huh? Did something happen here?
Jōsuke: Crazy Diamond.
Jōsuke: Huh? What does this mean?
Tomoko: Jōsuke! What are you standing around there for? Your friends are waiting for you!
Jōsuke: Yeah, yeah, I'm just about to go.
Okuyasu: Hey, Jōsuke. What were you doing?
Kōichi: Good morning, Jōsuke.
Jōsuke: Hey, Kōichi. 'Morning.
Okuyasu: I asked what you were doing!
Jōsuke: This guy's great.

wheeeew ^ check out the Jew nose on that guy, what'd he do to deserve that?

I started watching HxH because I have nothing to do.
I fucking hate Leorio. Why do authors write stupid as shit, obnoxious characters?
Is his sole reason for existing to make me NOT want to watch this anymore?
If the assassin shota wasn't around, it'd be working. :|

I'm not really looking for Samurai anime per se, just something that follows… the same style and flow. In the time passed I've seen a bit of Cowboy Beebop and I really like how it goes.

I've seen Afro Samurai back then and it's a bit over-the-top for me so I'll pass on that one, but I've never heard of this Sword of the Stranger before and although from what I've seen the fights are a also a bit crazy, it has the fast-pace and momentum of everything I want in an animated show with plenty of fight scenes. I'll definitely give it a shot.

I don't think I've ever binge consumed an anime so obsessively.
About to start the Greed Island arc. HxH is fucking awesome.
Hisoka is my spirit animal.
schwinngg~

Lisa do you still hate Leorio? What did you think of York Shin? Isn't Biscuit awesome?

So the new Berserk anime set for 2016 got a preview and while the CG looks terrible I'm still watching it because it's f*cking Berserk

>Lisa do you still hate Leorio?

He's more of a mild annoyance now since he hasn't been around, but he wasn't very significant when he came back anyway. Just go to med school, shoo. I liked the Phantom Troupe though, they're a solid group of villains as characters, you know? But it was a little weird how pissed they got over Uvo when half of them were like "well fuck Chrollo I guess, let's kill the shotas and move on." The arc kinda ended by fizzling out though, didn't really go out with the bang I thought it was building up to.

Haven't seen much of Biscuit yet, I'm only a few episodes into it.
Killua left to retake the Hunter Exam in the last ep I watched.

{ Is Hisoka still your spirit animal? Lol }

I think Bisky is a bit more on my wavelength.

{ Holy shit Lisa, get hyped for Chimera Ants! }

I'm not very hyped at all since I keep finding shit like this in the chimera ants tag on tumblr……

All I know so far is that the explanation for "phogogenesis" or whatever was cool.

So not only am I not suffering from feels, but this arc is so stupidly long I don't even want to watch it. Will someone just tell me what episode shit ACTUALLY happens in, because I'm now at 122 and aint nobody done SHIT. The plot hasn't even progressed any, literally nothing has changed since they first popped into the palace. NOTHING. The past 25 episodes might as well have been filler. This series was going far too well, I should have known I'd run into bullshit eventually.

like what the fuck is this???

What the fuck????

Ep 147:

waht a show.
It took my entire Christmas vacation to watch, I go back home in less than 12 hours.

Is there dramatically more to the manga? I hear it's really on and off.

Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot. I don't know exactly how many chapters there are currently but from what I hear it's about as much content as 10 episodes. The biggest problem though is that it isn't concluded so it just stops mid-arc right now.

On the other hand you could check out Yuu Yuu Hakusho, which was written by the same author as HxH. I just finished watching it the other day and while it wasn't quite as good as HxH it was still really cool to see all the similarities between the two. Keep in mind that Yuu Yuu has a pretty slow start though, things don't start getting interesting until around episode 15.

"Oh boy, the new KyoAni show came out today. I loved Sound! Euphonium and the concept behind this one sounds really interesting, I bet it'll be great!"

NEW ANIME:

Prince of Stride: 3/5 – The only reason I'm watching this is because of the cute guys, I'll fully admit that. Other than that, er, it's pretty when it wants to be? And I kinda like the art style? and the parkour is interesting I guess? It isn't great, but it's perfectly suitable for what it is. Needs to cut out on that awful comedy though.

HaruChika: 2.5/5 – Aw man this show really annoys me, I want to like it more than I do. Without spoiling, it's really rare we see characters quite like one of the main characters Haruta, so I want to like it for doing something not many other shows can claim to do. On the other hand, the rest of the show is, er, not great. Again, cut the bad comedy, please.

AssClass Season 2 4/5 – Yup, that was more AssClass, which is always a good thing. Nice to see this show again.

Erased 4.5/5 – Awesome show, hopefully THIS will be the one to finally give me the mystery anime I've been craving. I don't really want to say much else, in case anyone hasn't seen it yet. Just watch it.

Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju 5/5 – I found this one REALLY interesting. Since I went in completely blind, I didn't really know anything about Rakugo beforehand, so not only did it serve as a great drama, but it taught me quite a bit too! The setting and characters especially really impressed me, it's a really unique environment I can't I've seen before. Even the music was really cool, too. This is probably my favorite new show (although to be fair that's not saying much), a very relaxing and fascinating show. It kind of makes me sad that not many people will watch it, but seriously, you really should give this one a watch.

Sekko Boys 100/5 – AOTY EVERY YEAR BEST SHOW. A true modern masterpiece. (Seriously though, the show is legit funny, I really do recommend it)

Bad season so far, few good shows but a lotta shit in between them. Plus the new KyoAni show, woof. At least Sekko Boys will save anime

I personally enjoyed it in spite of this stuff. KyoAni is love regardless.

The quoted post has been deleted.

Took a LONG break for a while like a year or so ago. Was on episode 354 of Shippuden. Just started again recently and am now on 356. Its about a subpar as I remember, but shonen is just naturally addicting.

Also probably gonna start Noragami soon since Loli and 21 can't shut up about it lol
