I'm not a huge fan of Naruto so I could care less. It's somewhat expected considering the popularity of the series in general.

Live-action isn't necessarily a death mark (the live-action Death Note and Detective Conan movies are good) but one made by Americans tends to have a pretty horrible track record. Whenever a company tries to make an adaption of something foreign they tend not to even read the source material and just go off of what they think the series is about. Generally when it comes to adaptions, the director needs to actually like the series or else it has a very high percentage of being absolutely terrible.

I don't really care for Naruto, but I'm curious to see how this will work out.

It's probably going to have the fat kid (Choji?) as obnoxious comedy relief, Naruto as a skater, Sakura will be the popular girl, Hinata will be basically the same, Sasuke will be some kind of bully with a heart of gold and some original characters each one with their own highschool clichés

I'm looking forward to seeing this toxic cesspool of an idea to bomb hard

I don't like Naruto, but let's see if it will become an epic masterpiece like The Last Airbender and Dragon Ball Evolution.
