Famous for the roles of Snape in Harry Potter and Hans Gruber in Die Hard, Alan Rickman has died at age 69 surrounded by family and friends

Just heard this on the news. It's a real shame, he was such a great actor and he'll be missed dearly. RIP Alan.

(It's an odd coincidence that he's the third famous British person to die of cancer at the age of 69/70 in the last 3 weeks after Lemmy and Bowie.)

I was at Subway when I heard, I had to turn around in my seat to make sure I heard the news reporter correctly.

He always made for a really good villain or snarky character.

Shit, there's the hat trick with Lemmy, Bowie, and Rickman. 2016 is going to be a bad year for celebrity deaths isn't it.

Damn, another great Englishman taken away by cancer. This guy had a wonderfully deep voice, and it's sad to see him go.
