This caught me by surprise actually. It turns out that Viacom bought Paws Inc. meaning Garfield's ass is owned by Nickelodeon. They plan on doing a new cartoon series for Nickelodeon alongside merchandise. It also means that U.S. Acres is owned by Nickelodeon too.

He has a small team in his studio making direct to DVD (which today means direct to cartoon network and boomerang theater at 7 am) and a french CGI show that had a crazy hiatus of four years between the fourth and fifth season. Both prodcutions have graphics so basic that they look like ps2 cutscenes
