As the title says, any instances you can think of when a piece of media references well-known fan works?
I bring this up because the latest episode of Spongebob references, I’m not kidding, the infamous Squidward Suicide Creepypasta

Sonic Boom had an episode referencing the "snooping as usual I see" line from Adventures of the Sonic the Hedgehog that became famously used in YouTube Poops a decade ago.

Some believe the initial reveal trailer for Majora's Mask 3D had a subtle nod to BEN DROWNED by randomly including the Link Elegy of Emptiness statue in one scene for no apparent reason, but no official word has ever been given it was a nod to the popular creepypasta or not.

The official Doom 2016 soundtrack upload on YouTube also has a scene where a dooting revenant flies across the screen at one point, referencing a popular joke among the fanbase when people began doing Mr. Skeltal remixes of Doom music (taken further in Doom Eternal as a pre-order bonus where you can get an alternate skin for the revenant called the "doot revenant" which replaces his armor and launchers with brass horn instruments).
