I have been on something of a Moomin kick as of late after Youtube recommended me the whole 1990 series. I also watched Moominvalley (the writing in that show is quite good). I probably know more about the series than most Americans as the only place in the US the 1990 show was ever aired was Hawaii (yet the English dub has everyone put on American accents for some reason).

I have been planning on watching the 26 episode "second season" of Tanoshii Muumin Ikka called Tanoshii Muumin Ikka: Bouken Nikki, but finding it has been really tough. I know that it was never released in English and is not considered very good, but I still want to watch it for the sake of completion. One would think that there would be a fansub made in the last 30 years (the places where I looked kept confusing it for the original series). I guess what I am asking is if anyone else here had a similar experience, since asking people to search for it is fairly gauche. Although I would like to know if it is true that Funimation has it in their service.

Moomins were technically my first anime, and they were quite popular in Poland throughout 70's to late 00's. Polish Wikipedia says that both seasons aired here, but I was a small child back then so I can't really tell.

Anyway, I got good news and bad news. Good news I found a service which has all 104 episodes. The bad news is that they're all in Polish, part of the videos themselves is hosted on Russian websites, most seem to be recorded from a tv broadcast via a regular camera.

If there are English subtitles, then I would be interested. (Sorry to sound entitled).

Nevermind the shady site. Turns out all episodes have been uploaded on youtube. That being said neither have subtitles and one for some reason is in Finnish again. I could try writing subtitles for all the episodes, but Youtube removed subtitle making tools week ago
