So a little over a year ago, Mack posted a forum game (that he got from Verbose) where everyone involved in the thread got paired up with someone and then they shared songs on each other's profile walls. I personally found it to be extremely fun so I decided that it should be brought back!

The mechanics of how this will work is more or less copy and pasted from the previous thread:
1) If you’re interested in joining something like this, post here. This is not a huge commitment of any sort, but we want things to run effectively, so please don’t sign up if you know you’re not going to do with it.
2) Everyone will be assigned a number based on when he/she posts in the thread. Since I will be joining in this game as well, I suppose that I would be number 1, the next person would be number 2, etc.
3) This is your buddy. Love your buddy. Cherish your buddy. But don’t abuse your buddy, please. You’ll be with your buddy for 7 days.
4) During that week, you will give your buddy a link to one song per day for each day of the week. Try to share things you really like, and variety is encouraged, but not required (heck, none of this is required). Be nice, and actually listen to the song you receive each day. It’ll take just a few minutes of your life.
5) If you like your buddy’s taste, great! Don’t feel like you have to limit yourself to one song a day if you’re really enjoying what you’re hearing. Just be sure to tell your buddy that you want to hear more.
6) Be honest, but not mean. If you really just don’t like what you’re hearing, don’t lie about it. But don’t be a jerk. Just ask your buddy to mix it up a little.

Some more stuff that I got from the previous thread:

- Make sure you can actually participate during the week. Nothing sucks more than to get bailed on while everyone else is having fun. Should this happen, or should we have an odd number of people sign up, I’ll volunteer to be the odd man out. In other words, I will partner up with whoever does not have a partner at any given time.

-Keep in mind your partner has 24 hours to post his/her link. Crap happens. Don’t get worried if your buddy hasn’t posted late into the day. If they miss a day, give them time to catch up.

-If you fall behind, catch up. If you miss a day, post two songs the next day, and so forth. But don’t be that guy. Don’t abandon people.

-If you’ve been abandoned or feel like you have, contact me and it'll be sorted out.

-Post your song links on walls. If we get a million embeds in this thread, browsers will react poorly. That being said, feel free to discuss your buddy’s posts in here. But again, let’s not embed in this thread to save everyone the headaches.

I will give it to about Saturday (7/5) around 12 pm EST for users to sign up. The randomized partners will be posted by 1 pm the same day the latest. If there are any questions, feel free to ask them!

This indeed was fun last time! I'll participate again.

Looking back on the one we did last year, it's really funny how much my musical tastes have expanded since then. Can't wait to do it again!

Alright, entry into this event has been closed for a while now and I have randomized the partners through an extremely advanced method (Making slips of paper with everyone's username on it and picking them from a shoe). Since there is an uneven number of people participating, I will take on the extra person. As mentioned previously, please make sure that you can actually participate in this. Is there a time limit on the music you are sharing? One of the things I want to share is 8 minutes.

There is no limit as to how long the song can be. It can be short or long.

So the week is almost halfway done. How is everybody coming along with their partner?

I really like the Classical Music Bionic Kraken is showing to me.

I've saved a few to my MP3 library already.

Our week of music buddying ended yesterday so I'd like to hear how everyone did for the week. Personally, I got some interesting stuff from the users I buddied up with (NintenDylan and Moargun). Some I liked and some I didn't but I had a pretty good time overall. What about you guys?

A Furry showed me some interesting music. Some of it had interesting polyrhythmic textures. The syncopation and timbre of some of it was great as well.

My buddy DJKing exposed me to lots of very atmospheric electronic music, along with some cool alt rock. I really enjoyed sharing music over this week.

I was paired up with Peacock Roy.
Heard a lot of fun music, quite some variety too, and lots of good stuff. In fact, I'm listening to Sparks now. And of course it's a good opportunity to talk about music I like.

I liked almost all the stuff Fridge Logic posted. But, other than that, it didn't really work out, like he said.

Yeah, you missed the fun by a few days. Sorry about that. Be sure to join us when we do this again. A lot of users had fun with this and it would be really great to get some new participants involved next time!

It's not a problem! I had a good time, too.

I had plenty of music I wanted to share with Gary the Stormtrooper, but he never talked to me. Why do I always get the short end?

He didn't respond to you? You could have mentioned this to me during the week. I would've been happy to have picked up the slack. If you'd like, I could do another week where I'll partner with you.
