I tested it. I commented and uploaded stuff and whatever I did and not matter how old were the things I commented on, I received 1 downvote very quickly.

This means that there are bots (or users) that specifically go through user activity pages to downvote everything they do. I wonder how many users have been "marked" with a bot and how to fix it?

I've been marked as well it seems. I told James about this earlier but it seems to affect other people as well. Not just me.

First of all, comment upvotes/downvotes aren't tallied on your profile.I'm not going to pretend to understand why you care so much, but understand that it has no lasting impact on your account.

A bot specifically designed to follow users and downvote their comments/forum posts wouldn't differentiate between your comments on Pokemon fanart and your comments discussing JonTron's political views. A person who hates your opinions, however, certainly would. You're not "marked", someone just doesn't like you. It isn't even close to probable that this is a single user downvoting you, judging by how sporadic it occurs on your activity feed.

There is literally nothing anyone can do to stop this, short of the users who are downvoting being banned. If the idea of negative internet points is truly too much to bear, here are some things you could try:

• Posting your opinions on politics
• Posting your opinions on video games
• Posting your opinions on a current news/celebrity scandal
• Having opinions
• Uploading to any gallery related to a children's franchise
• Using KnowYourMeme in any capacity

Maybe when KYM is given a multi-million dollar budget comment moderation will become a reality, and those parts of the site can become civil again. Sorry.

Actually I rather believe we have downvoters, I mean literally whatever I post or I comment, whatever where or when, I immedietly get a downvote, not lot of downvotes, just one. Which indicates that there's indeed someone dedicated to downvote people, however I'm sure not one person or it must be a bot in that case, cause above certain people every RWBY roleplayer gets downvoted all the time. The only place I don't get downvotes is actually the forums.

It does help that it doesn't have any effect on my actual account in terms of karma which is why I don't care too much. But yeah there's a downvoter around everyone it seems. Don't know what we should do in this situation as it has no effect on our karma but there's a guy who's clearly pissed at the site that downvotes people (That troll possibly that posted porn?)
It's the same with forum posts as well. My comment to James was that at the time because I assumed it was only me I made a slight mention of it and nothing more and he didn't decide to do anything because it was only 1 person but now that he's getting lots of people it might be time to strike.

I doubt all of our non-overused jokes are bad like posting a source about something big happening on a non-trending page and it gets downvoted (Why). Notably for me they only occur on Thursdays.

There are users dedicated to posting nothing but softcore pornography of amputees. We had a guy who only talked about pepsi for a while. Some users literally only use the site to roleplay as Pokemon. This is not surprising. Every forum and imageboard of significant size will have a few. This is normal.

The only place I don’t get downvotes is actually the forums.

Forum moderator is a position on KYM that exists. Comment moderator is considered an inside joke among said mods. Funny how that works.

This narrows it down to every account of 2 years or older, in addition to anyone on the mod team, anyone from EDF, anyone who liked the cringeworthy gallery, and probably someone from an RP thread. One day you'll be like them.

Uploading porn isn't considered "trolling" the site so much as "contributing". It's what we tell bad uploaders to make themselves feel better. I think you might be talking about the few users who upload gore and shock images. Remember: uploading softcore porn is well within the rules. We just all hate you for doing it.

Time to strike… what? People can downvote whatever they want. When the voting nonsense becomes such an issue that it begins to slow the site down, then it may be acceptable to take action. Which probably means increasing the time between valid votes. Banning a user for really not liking another user is completely invalid and there is no precedent for such. If you truly feel that you've been targeted and that this cyberbully menace needs to be stopped, contact your local law enforcement.

I cannot make it more clear how inconsequential this is. Somebody doesn't like you. Maybe call them out on a wall post or something? This barely constitutes as a problem at all, so much as a request for karma safety nets. A man on the bus looked at you funny. This is not the driver's problem.

So I guess since it's not really affecting your reputation, people will equal out that single downvote if you post something nice or funny, so as Doe said not paying attention to it is the best way to deal with it, eventually it will die out. If you still can't take it, just make an alt account and keep upvoting yourself.

I'm not talking about softcorn porn I'm talking about hardcore porn that is literally just gifs of people fucking with explicit detail on the parts (It happened a while ago and it was constant despite it was obviously against the rules). Sorry for the confusion.
