They should rename him to "Ditty Kong" (dit·ty /ˈdidē/ noun: ditty; a short, simple song) that way it sounds almost the same. Make him be a major character in a Nintendo-based Guitar Hero knockoff.
You could choose different band members based on Nintendo properties, and play different excerpts of songs from/inspired by their respective games. Since it would be short (just the best parts of the song), the game would refer to them as "Ditties".
Maybe even have two band competition concerts level with Ditty Kong as the host. He would yell out before performances "Where are the Ditties?" "Who here has the best Ditties?" and "Lemme see some nice Ditties!". He would say "Those were some fat Ditties!" "I loved them nice Ditties!" "Well rounded Ditties like those make me feel so good!" and "Feel free to show me your Ditties anytime!" after performances.
