On Oct.23 the conservative channel sent their subscribers an email stating that their videos and channel have been censored and restricted to they describe as a violation of their First amendment rights and are beginning to launch a legal battle against YouTube(and indirectly Google as well). Youtube have sent a response to these claims as false and stating that it was all in part of their "Restricted Mode", which blocks videos from being searched due to their non family friendly content, and had no involvement with said censorship. PragerU are continuing their lawsuit regardless.

Friends, serious shit is about to happen.

On what legal grounds do Prager "U" think they can win? It's been established repeatedly that the first amendment only restricts state actors from preventing or censoring speech. You can argue all you want about whether private entities should be legally aloud to punish or remove speech from their platforms but as it stands they currently have the legal authority to do so. I highly doubt anything will come from this.

Isn't prager u like, that super-conservative education channel? regardless of finding their videos fucking retarded they still have the right to free speech, even if they're spreading misinformation. this is legit censorship and frankly, FRANKLY in spite of my disdain for their channel I hope they win their lawsuit.

I was never a believer in the whole 'private property has every right to restrict (insert freedom)' argument. it's a blatantly corporate shill argument used to hide from the fact that corporations can do just as much harm as government or any other authority figures potentially can.

I'm of latin descent[partially at least], a lot of central & general latin america was fucked up by corporations like United Fruit slandering them as Communist when in reality they were trying to make reforms to their nations that companies like them had massive control over. they punished said latin leaders by forcing them into massive debt, essentially enslaving the populace & installing brutal juntas. tell me, is any of that, ANY OF THAT, justified because 'private property'.

Frankly people should be free, whether you like it or not
