An internal Google memo regarding internet censorship just leaked. What do you think in regards to Google's positions. Is Google justified? Is this type of censorship good? Discuss.

Yeah Breitbart leaked it, but Google has confirmed it is theirs.

Have they not technically done that since the very beginning..? It never really was a free-for-all platform, to be honest. Whether or not they plan to reinforce any existing policies would be a different story.
But if true, what would they win, anyway..? People affected/bothered by it will just move to another search engine, and with the death of Google+, they effectively lost like half of their media power in other platforms. That alone makes me doubt the veracity of all this.
You could argue that they will manipulate the information people see on platforms like YouTube or Facebook, but let us be real here: if you get your political news from YouTube or Facebook, you are already doing it wrong regardless of Google's involvement. I am not even sure if there is any remaining news outlet worthy of trust in the US, in fact. They all have a political bias. There already is no reliable way to obtain political news and be sure none of it is filtered or selectively presented, so what would Google change on that regard, really..? Again, people can just use other platforms not owned by them, and I would assume people concerned about this may as well be doing so already.
