Post-setting image gallery for your image

One thing I found annoying about knowyourmeme is that when you upload an image, some moderators might move your image to another, more related gallery. For example, I uploaded an image of the Cul-de-sac from Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy that was captioned with "The original Grove Street". I originally uploaded it to "Childhood Enhanced", but it quickly got moved to the "Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy" gallery, which brings up two issues:
1. Nobody visits that gallery
2. I found it the image quite nostalgia-inducing, which is why placed it in "Childhood Enhanced"
I wish you could change in what gallery your image is located, or at least be requested for permission from mods to move the image. In "Edit Image" should be a textbox for the gallery's name, like in the "Add image" option.
Anyone agree?

1. Nobody visits that gallery

Lots of galleries don't get views. So what? Our purpose as a site is to document viral phenomenon. If it is related to the show, it obviously shows documentation of spread of said show.

2. I found it the image quite nostalgia-inducing, which is why placed it in “Childhood Enhanced”

To quote BSoD

We wanted the “Cringeworthy meme” not “Things you think are cringeworthy”
We wanted the “Childhood ruined meme” not “Things that ruined your childhood”

The childhood galleries in general were not very good. People just posted whatever they wanted, and ignored existing galleries if they existed because the childhood gallery was trending.

be requested for permission from mods to move the image.

We move a lot of images. Mods are not going to ask permission to move an image that users posted in the wrong gallery because they didn't read the KYM Image Gallery Guidelines. However, if you go to edit history of the image and ask the mod who moved the image why it was moved, well gladly discuss it. There is a chance that we really are mistaken about our decision to move an image. Still, make sure to keep in mind the site rules about the subject.

I think you may be forgetting that this site was originally created for the purpose of documenting internet memes, so the mods are only trying to help the site by moving an image to a gallery that suits it better.

And this is an issue because………? Isn't that exactly what's supposed to happen? Images belong where they are most fitting, otherwise we might as well ditch the entire purpose of entry galleries.

ITT: OP confirms he's a whore for dem views.

On a somewhat related note, do you guys know how to add tags to images, if that's possible for users other than the original poster? There are a LOT of untagged images around here that render searching useless if the subject matter isn't in the title. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Well, there's a tag box when you upload images yourself. And you can also edit the image afterwards to add more tags.

If you want to tag other images, upload 100 images. This gets you Scrapbooker powers, allowing you to edit all images on the site to add sources and tags. It's an auto-granted power, so just get to 100 uploads and you're set.
