Once every month or every two months, post something summarizing all the news memes that are being researched/confirmed, events that happened, and the most interesting stuff posted/most trending pics/videos that month/couple months. Give it its own tab somewhat at the top of the site, have it coded so there's a section for memes, a section for events/all other entry categories, and a section for most popular/interesting images/videos that month. Maybe even include editorials and interviews with various users regarding the topics as a fun segment. Mods can do it with some initial guidance by admins.

Should this be done? How should it be done? What should be in it and not be in it? Please discuss. :D

What if there was an entry made every other month documenting all the major stuff that happened online and this entry was run by top mods and aided by any users with decent info?

I can see a suggestions thread where regular users post ideas for the review.

It's not a bad idea, but anything that has to be done is probably done by admins or can be done by admins if push came to shove.

If this were to be a regular thing, there would be no room for someone to be late or skip a month, because they had finals, because they were depressed that day, a game just came out, or stuff like that. I honestly don't know, but I figure the administrators moved it to a year review set of pages instead of a monthly thing, because they didn't want to take time to parse out what they wanted to add. And I'm skeptical of even myself doing moderator duties on a regular basis, so I wouldn't really trust mods to lead that monthly creation or users either who have even less accountability.

Of course, if no one really cares (to be honest, it wouldn't start out as something that would draw users to the site,) then it might be something that could be produced late or intermittently. It would look bad if it didn't come out regularly, but that's all: it just looks bad. But if it is done well and regularly, then I think it could actually be a draw. I mean, the trending sections change by the hour or so, and it's not easy to keep up with. A monthly/bimonthly thing might be something people who are interested in web phenomena can read and look forward to. I just don't really trust volunteer mods and users to keep it going.
