I think a good idea for this site is to know instantly if you have a response to a comment on any page, without having to look at your emails. As someone who comments quite a bit on the site I feel like this could really help as you would instantly get a notification so it saves some time. It's more practical as well.

That said I don't know how much strain and processing power this would put on the server but it shouldn't be that much more then the link to your wall that pops up on the front page whenever you have a message on that wall specifically.

(OOC) Yes, it would be useful, but as someone who has a Distinction in ICT Standard Diploma, trying to code to that level is extremely tough for the maintenance guys due to its complexity, after all, this is live reaction time you are implying right?
