Too classic world themes!

Expecialy If you are a long time Super Mario Fan you might have stumbled into them too much often:
The grass world, the desert world, the ice world. the mechanical world… Etc.
I say it's about time to refresh the formula, maybe theming the worlds on parodies of movies, TV series or other videogames.

''Too many collectibles''
Collectibles are fine for keeping the levels from feeling empty, but there's a point where collecting stuff gets tedious and beings to feel like an attempt to make a game seem longer. The game that did this the worst was Donkey Kong 64. All five playable characters have a lot to collect and certain Kongs are only permitted in a specific area. And you have to keep switching between them to collect everything. By the time anybody actually gets everything and beats the game, they're burned out. No wonder all games released after this one toned down the collecting and stuff.

I think "cliché" is a more appropriate word.

Overused sound effects: I hate hearing the same sound effects over and over and over again, especially if they have already been used for ages in even more games as well. Sure, some of those sounds will never get old, but most of them have already got old. Please add some variety and make some new sound effects.

Terrible graphics: I'm not a graphic whore and I don't need highly realistic graphics to enjoy the game, especially if it has great game play and an interesting story. But please show mercy to my eyes. Even a great game can be ruined if it has too brightly colors, cartoonist design and no or bad textures. Bad graphics are not only unappealing, but even painful to my eyes.

Rubber Band AI
- "The more you succeed, the harder it gets" Sounds like the perfect philosophy for Dynamic Difficulty, right? Well, I guess that explains why the AI car can go nearly the speed of sound to close in a 30 second gap after spinning out, Or why the AI instantly can read my moves and make perfect reactions to split-second situations.

Anti-Human AI AKA Let's Gang Up On The Human
- Computer AIs look out for each other, and have made a ceasefire pact to never harm another AI. So when you are in a battle with two different monster types, even if they're sworn enemies in the story, they will always attack you and you alone. Bonus points if they also ignore AI controlled allies.

Unjustified Hate From Nintendo
I can't stand when I see constant comments from people who think that when Nintendo does the smallest things, fanboys from all aisles bash them until eternity. And their hypocrisy is always treading like wildfire.
Example:
Nintendo Reveals a new Metroid
"STOP REUSING OLD FRANCHISES!?!!!!??!!!!!!11111!1!!!S0 UNORIGINAL!!!1!1111!!"
Nintendo Revealed a new IP
"OGM NINTENDO REMAKE SUPER MARIO RPG ALREDY!!!!!!!!1!!!!1111"

Gaming Nostalgiatards
Many fanbases have them, they always act like elitists and constantly preaches how only the original trilogy of games were good and spreads nothing but doom and gloom on new titles (cough, cough, Zelda Fandom, Sonic Fandom, etc.)they are the real reason they're are never anything new and innovative happens these days.

PC Master Race
Originally this was funny and all, but now its just a pure showing of elitism. Console fanboys are one thing, but these people never actually think about others opinions. Hey Master race, NOT EVERYONE HAS 1000's TO SPEND ON BUILDING OR BUYING AN ALIENWARE JUST TO PLAY TF2!!

Casual Boasting
Its not just just girls that do this, but a bunch of people do this think they are such gamers by only playing one series or genre of games ALL THE TIME.I know a bunch of guys and girls who do this just to get status points in attention. The two biggest games that I see with this problem is COD and Mine craft and most of them make actual gamers look like attention snobs.

Toddlers playing games over they're age limit
What frightens me about this is how 8 year olds with little psychological abilities to cope against violence, gets handed to them an M rated game with blood and gore that can emotionally and psychologicaly effect them I the long run. This is why so many there so many squeakers say the cringeworthy things Ind COD or GTA lobbies and it has to Stop!

Cliché is not sufficent to described something that is so rooted in a system that it's really hard to get rid of.

Reminds me.

It's OK when Nintendo does it

"Guys stop making CoD it's the same thing every year."
"Can't wait for the next sidescrolling Mario game. The one where they brought back an enemy and power up from Super Mario Bros 3, so new and original"

"DLC kills the industry!"
"Link is gonna be in Mario Kart DLC? Sweet!"

The list could go on about the double standards that Nintendo get. I like Nintendo but the fact that they are exempt from criticisms that people would give another company shit for.

Bullet Sponges
Enemies that when the difficulty is cranked up or just sponges in general appear, I hate it. I don't find the game more hard, but rather frustrating. Wasting a ton of ammo/attacks on an enemy that could normally be taken down with lesser or few actions but for some reason they can tank everything is my biggest gear grinder. Something like BioShock Infinite has the worst kind of bullet sponges, and it was a reason why I couldn't enjoy the game a lot or games that have sponges in general.

Holy shit I despise those people. I'm a massive Nintendo fantard and I can be overbearing at times but the hypocrisy is real with them.

Partying-up in MMOs
I like to solo MMOs a lot. Is that bad? Apparently it is, since I'm not allowed to progress without a party. Not too many modern MMOs do this, but back then I would always get trapped in a low level area because there was no-one I could partner up with to jump the boss. 'Tis a hard life for us asocial loners, is it not?

@Beatie

Don't forget the flipside!

Partying-up in MMO's: opposite day edition

I want to create a party. I invite 3 friends to play the game with me. Because the games fun, I like it and i want to play it with people i like.

They jump in, we share fiend requests, we form a group and start a game….oh wait, we can't because high level players cannot team with low level players….thanks

…alright so I have to make a new character just to play with my other friend new characters even though I really wanted to show them what you can do at high level. Even Borderlands 2 didn't stop me from doing that

If you're in a PvP environment instead of an open world one, then you have another thing coming: party penalties.

Oh, sorry, your party of 4 players cannot enter a game unless the match making system finds an opposite party of 4 players. Apparently it cant just round up 4 induvidual players, no. It apparently needs to find another party with the same number. WTF? What's the chances anybody else has a party that big in the ranks we're playing in.

And when you do find a game, you find out you're playing in ranks way above all your newbie friends and your new character and you get stomped…why? Because even with a new character, my skill rating was so high, it kicked me out of low ranks anyway…including my party of newbs….thanks Gaijin Entertainment

Oh man that last part also reminds me about another thing:
Unbalanced rank matches
This mostly happens to me with shooting games. I swear, half the time I'm stuck with a team 20 lvls lower than me while the other half I'm with a team at my lvl but against MLG FaZe clan worthy people. I always end up having twice as many deaths to kills and it takes me forever to get the things I want

Bosses that just throw their minions at you
It pisses me off, especially in 3D adventure games and shooters, where you fight a boss, but instead of focusing most of your time strategizing on how you beat it, you have to beat the mooks he sends out before you land a hit. And even then it's not much, just wail on him like crazy while he does nothing until he flies away away or some shit, and then beat more enemies. Rinse and repeat. A proper boss is like Contra, Megaman or Sonic. Especially the Megaman Zero series. Sure they may have some spots where you have to wait until you attack, but at least they give out attacks that are entertaining to dodge and strategize. And don't rely on their minions to do their own work, while they sit on some high platform with some invisible barrier like a beached whale. Hell, a 3D game like Kingdom Hearts and Metal Gear Rising shows that bosses in 3d can be fun.
