Nintendo right now

But really, they are not going to cancel a game because of distraught from the fans. This is just a spinoff using the Metroid name to sell units. I think Johnny says it best.

I don't think this new counter petition is really needed. Either the first one fails or succeeds and that's the end of that, but I don't think it'll be going anywhere.

Never understood the whole shebang with the new Metriod, should probably read on it or something. But hey, I guess this counter petition is a way to show support for something that is probably going to happen, lol. In the end sales will determine how it does.

Topics for Change.org petitions have grown to include disagreement with the Academy Awards and removing milk from certain types of coffee. The authors of these petitions have been criticized for focusing on first world problems. Further debate over the content of petitions came in November 2014 when Martin Daubney called some of them "bizarre" and stated that the site was being used to promote censorship. In response, the Change.org communication director John Coventry defended the wide range of petitions, saying that "people make an informed choice in what they want to support." The following week saw criticism alleging that petitions about the media receive more attention than petitions about "saving 'actual' lives."

I rather wish RWS would make a joke petition (at change.org) to make bitchy feminist, Applesauce Cartesian play games that "glorify" girls. If I was approached by the Postal dude to sign it, I'll say "Okay, That pretty sounds like a good idea"

Did someone heard about this. No seriously! I WANT TO KNOW!

What about the petition to remove paid mods for Skyrim?

As long as the petitions aren't stupid, they aren't really going to fail.

I agree with AlphaOmegaSin, though: Don't buy it. Let it sink into the bottom of the bargain bin. Let it become a new addition to the CD_I games: Forgotten, never to be spoken of again.

I still can't figure out what everyone is so pissed off about.

This is a co-op Metroid game that features random Federation soldiers fighting standard Metroid enemies. There's also a soccer game mode.

It DOESN'T have the main character, it has a differewnt atmosphere than the pthers, and it looks like a scrapped Nintendo Land attraction that somehow got its own game.

This is basically Nintendo's "Aliens: Colonial Marines".

Ok, I feel bad for wanting it torched.

Hey, guys. Have you heard about this Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker game? It's a spin-off from the Mario series, but the gameplay is all different and you can't play as Mario! Outrageous! Crucify whoever is responsible!

Yes it has Samus and Metroids in a cameo along with the Federation, a very important organization in the series, and space pirates, another important organization. I think it's very relevant to the series and even has similar gameplay with a single player that includes exploration and stuff. There's even hints that Sylux might be in the game aka the most mysterious Hunter from the DS game who was known to hate the Federation and possibly showed up at the end of Prime 3.

And even if it didn't include all these things it's been pointed out already that it's just a spin-off it's like Hyrule Warriors or Captain Toad Nintendo does this all the time hell they made a pinball game for Metroid a few years back. And like others have pointed out don't use a minute long teaser trailer as a reason to want to torch a game. That's advice for this situation and for any game at all. Doing otherwise just makes you look like a man-child.

Mario usually has insane additions to the series, so Captain Toad isn't really on the same level.

Plus, they pretty much teased it with the Captain Toad levels.

So, not a good example.

Then Nintendo would die out.

Ok, then. It's a spin-off. i understand that. But IMO, Hyrule Warriors is still a good Zelda game. This game looks like a Nintendo Land attraction that got expanded upon. I'm not going ot lie, I wussed out on Metroid Prime when I got my 1st GameCube in 2011. The only Metroid game I own is Metroid II on Virtual Console. But I understand that it's supposed to be a lonely game, about exploring a planet and destroying horrible creatures. But this just doesn't look like it. I may be hypocritcal, but that's how I and others feel. And if this IS supposed to be a real Metroid game, why did they show the multiplayer!? That would be like having J-pop in Dark Souls, or gore in a Kirby game! It's just out of place (yeah, I know. Metroid Prime 2 had multiplayer, but it still looked like Metroid.), and unnecesary. Why not put that in a seperate Direct, or even show the campaign first? Why show the after thought of the game at E3?

Yeah it doesn't feel very lonely which is why it's a spin-off. Hell Prime 3 never really felt too lonely because the Federation was always helping you out in joint raids and always kept in touch with you and it's still Metroid. And as I said this game may have "Metroid Prime" in the title but in the end it's just a spin-off so keep the expectations as that of a spin-off if you judge spin-offs like the source material you're just looking for disappointment.

And yeah I agree the presentation was kind of dumb, they should have almost expected the reaction they got. But still the reaction is childish and mostly unfounded even if Nintendo should have expected it. They were smart by immediately releasing the extra info though before they drowned in the vitriol. Overall the way they presented the digital event this year was kind of asking for whiners to come out of the shadows.

So getting a spinoff after a series had no games for 5 (if you conut Other M) or 8 years (if you don't, which doesn't really look like anything in the series at all and being mad about it is childish?

Seriously, how are they the fanboys here?

@Ultimate Fan Boy
Dude i was disappointed to see it too becuase i really like to see a metroid prime for the wii u but fuck man, how much you have to be pathetic to push for a game’s cancellation becuase you didn't like it, that only prove they are spoiled brats not fanboys becuase, if you don't like the game don't buy it just ignores the game just plain and simple, don't make petitions for cancel the game.

Exactly, but honestly: Who'd buy it? I don't think it should be cancelled either, but…who cares if it is?

That's how people should feel about the game, they should not feel like buying it not start a shitstorm and a petition you know? That's what mature consumers do. They also wait for reviews and new information. Just don't buy it it's that simple don't ruin it for those who might want to try it out. I myself am pretty excited for it for example.

So that's one out of…millions. ._.

but I get your point. It's just that there is/was so little demand for this game, it's kind of weird that they even bothered.

No way there's that many people who didn't like the game the dislikes are in the thousands and who knows how many alts and bots could be used. These people are just very very loud and obnoxious so it seems like they're the majority. Also Nintendo could have never expected this kind of reaction before they announced it, they just knew people wanted some Metroid so they decided to make this to kind of temporarily satiate people's hunger for Metroid before they come out with a real one and they've been thinking about the idea for like 10 years anyways and knew people wanted another multiplayer game since Hunters so why not?

And that's your problem you already despise a game because of a minute long trailer that barely revealed anything and this massive childish hate-jerk bandwagon even though the game still has a year left of development and is a spin-off just like the pinball game released a few years back no one gave a shit about or Captain Toad, Hyrule Warriors, Metal Gear Rising, etc. If you've already decided you want it burned your loss for what might be a great game made by great developers in a great franchise. They're still going to release it regardless what the grown men in diapers scream on the internet.

Not evryone put a dislike on the video, I get your point, though.

IMO< the game itself, isn't bad, it's that they should've waited when Meteoid U was released/announced to bring up whis weird spin-off.

"And that’s your problem you already despise a game because of a minute long trailer that barely revealed anything and this massive childish hate-jerk bandwagon even though the game still has a year left of development and is a spin-off just like the pinball game released a few years back no one gave a shit about or Captain Toad, Hyrule Warriors, Metal Gear Rising, etc."

How is not liking what you see in a trailer BAD?

And the reason why no one complains about the others?

-Captain Toad: The Mario is insane enough to where this won't gert backlash. Weird ideas in Mario is as common as oxygen.
-Hyrule Warriors: There was some (but that got turned around fast), to be fair. Because it has the same story, characters, and the game isn't bad in it's own right.
-Metal Gear Rising: Oh, there was…until they played it.

Federation Force is getting backlash is when it was presented at E3, it basically looked like Evolve, but E10+ (4 player co-op against 1 monster).
not only that, but Blast Ball is pretty weird.

"If you’ve already decided you want it burned your loss for what might be a great game made by great developers in a great franchise."

I personally don't doubt it, it's just that should have been a different IP, or at least clearly specified at the time that it was a spin-off..

"They’re still going to release it regardless what the grown men in diapers scream on the internet."

Because everyone who's against this is:

-a male.
-a man child and not someone who has valid criticism.

They're not going to release a game that ignited unholy anger within their consumer base (at least most wouldn't).

I don't mean to be rude, but we should probably leave it here. We're pratically repeating ourselves: I think the game shouldn't be bought, and you think most of the Metroid fanbase are screeching children (I said most of the fanbase because most people are against this).
