More Alola forms.
A Supernova
Make the storyline completely different from the first games. I don't mean a direct sequel like B2&W2 (I'd actually like that, but that doesn't seem the case), but not the same story with different elements like Yellow, Crystal, Emerald and Platinum.

This, or more megas.
Move Tutors giving some love to the Gen 7 pokemon that need it.
New Megas, specifically Flygon, Magcargo and the Gen 2 starters.

Explorer's Kit or hideouts like in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.
- Some extra moves to the new Pokemon's moves (namely giving Tapu Koko the move Play Rough)
- Move Tutors, but that's a given for any extra game in a generation
- More trainers you can re-fight, so getting to Level 100 isn't as much of a pain in the ass
- Some improvements to the framerate so it doesn't shit the bed during Double Battles
- Some Legendaries from previous generations being catchable
- Bring back Super Training from Gen 6 in some way, so that EV training isn't as annoying to do as it is in Sun/Moon
Bring back following pokemon
just a dream…

I never really understood why everyone loved that feature. Even Jwitz put that as the feature he most wants back. Personally, I think Amie/Refresh is even better than that, as there's much more to it.
So yeah, I don't see that really coming back, though I might be surprised in the future. Of course there are certain features that I want to return more despite being highly unlikely.*cough**cough*Dream World*cough*

Also, to add to this, make Sucker Punch a move tutor again, I want Sucker Punch Seviper, Cacturne and Shiftry to not be gen4 exclusive anymore.

Preferably not from Gen 1
More character customisation options.
Necrozma actually does something.
I'd like to see this in Pokémon General, but Imma let that go since nobody ain't say nothing about it.
- I'd only like to see Pokémon following you if:
- They're optional and you can turn off the feature at any point, and
- you can choose the Pokémon in your party you want following you.
- You change up their messages and actions based on their personalities (just an extra, text-based immersion thing)
Sometimes, you want to see your favorite Pokémon beside you as you're confronting a Gym Leader like Ash would have with Pikachu, but you don't want to send your Lopunny out first against someone you know with Fighting or Psychic-types in full tow.
Related to that, at the very least, you might not want to see Alomomola…ever.
…at all.
I agree that Amie and Refresh are better, but I could get behind trailing Pokémon as long as it isn't forced on you. And a lot of times, these sorts of mechanics are forced without thinking "Hey, would this be annoying if you couldn't turn it off?"
- More clothes for dudes. And being able to get rid of this outfit as soon as possible, Good Lord.
Hand-me-downs…more like ''backhand-me-downs,'' amirite.
- EV training outside of Isle Evelup would be good.
Horde battles were kinda neat, and Super Training was kinda fun, especially when you wanted to get a rare evolution stone, PP UP, or the like.
- I would keep legendaries story-based. I don't mind seeing them in events, and I would prefer seeing them in a location that makes sense in a side-story like the Ultra Beasts.
I don't play Pokémon for difficulty or anything. I play it for the universe and immersion. So I'd like for there to be some side quest instead of Mewtwo randomly being inside a cave outside of Cerulean City, because I don't even remember why.
- Can we get more Alola forms? Right on.
It's a different way to refresh earlier (or even later generation) Pokémon without making them go from sacrifices to hard-hitting sweepers or hard-hitting sweepers to Mega Rayquaza. And yeah, if they do add some Alolan forms, I hope they don't focus too much more on Gen I. If any generation needed it, it would be Gen I, since those are the oldest of the Pokémon, and sure, give Pikachu an Alolan form. I get that it's the mascot of the series. But Gen II and IV needs some more love. Even V. And Gen III Flygon gosh darn give that mofo two Mega Stones, an exclusive Z-move, and a three-split evolution from Vibrava with one being an Alolan form just to make up for how much Garchomp is lording over it.
- But I'd also like to see more evolutions, either split or new ones. Let's help Spinda out with a Mega. Girafarig (I'm biased, sure) is a neat design concept, but it's hard to use competitively even with Nasty Plot.
- I love Move Tutors, but I do like making moves fairly exclusive in general.
I love Drain Punch, but I think only punching/fist-based Pokemon should have access to it. Or Slack Off/Recover/other recovery moves should be rare, and Pokemon that "wish they had 'reliable recovery'" would continue to wish for it. I like for Pokemon to be unique enough, and with there being so many of them now with a ton of bird, Pikachu, and other clones, access to moves is probably the best way to make them unique.
- I like the concept of a sequel over a third version with slightly different parts…unless you take the theory that ORAS is in a different dimension than RSE…and expanded on that even further.
I loved that B2W2 was a sequel to BW, and I loved that GSC was a sequel to RBY. It's a new story in an already fun land to travel, and it incorporates characters you got to know in different roles. Cheren and Blue as Gym Leaders after being the protagonists' rivals, Giovanni being a mentioned character after being a big bad. Iris being the Champion after being one of two Gym Leaders in Opelucid.
So a separate game that's the same as the first would be disappointing to me unless the same situation occurred in a different dimension. In the Delta episode for ORAS, Zinnia
said that there were other dimensions, and that might explain why RSE didn't have Mega Evolutions when ORAS did in addition to stuff like the Physical/Special split and so forth. What with there already being Ultra Beasts and Fallers like Looker and Anabel,
you could incorporate a lot of different alternate dimensions and realities or simply have this play out differently so that, say, Guzma (but he keeps his Team Skull theme, because reasons.) actually became a Kahuna or Captains are rivals, Captains are Gym Leaders…the possibilities are endless without just having a third version which is the same as the first two with a few Pokemon changes and a small post-game story.
I can't believe nobody said a real Battle Frontier.
More hair colors, as well as much of what has already been said.
Preferably unnatural ones.

Easier way to get to Lv 100 so I can actually use my fucken bottle caps
-More trainers to fight daily in the post game would be nice. All we have if memory serves is a Gamefreak dev, the Elite Four, and a random title defense challenger.
-If they're gonna bring back Festival Plaza, let us skip straight to the latest level we achieve in the Plaza whenever we get 4,000 FCs from the events. It becomes a chore having to find other people to talk to just to raise the plaza rank individually.
-If this "alternate retelling" still has Lusamine as the main villain, and she still fuses with all those Nihilegos, I want Lusamine to insert herself into the battlefield and fight her directly after defeating her team of Pokemon.

A way to catch a Mythical pokemon in game like in the Delta Episode.
