Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters coming to Switch and PS4 Spring 2023, but physical versions are absurdly limited

Now the price of the collection I'm not gonna complain much about as it turns out the price is the same as buying all the games by themselves on Steam during a non-sale period, though the shipping being over $20 IS pretty damn weird (I mean shit most companies generally do free shipping on anything above $50). However the fact Square is only selling the physical version of the collection via their own online store AND outright state that quantities are limited is really strange. Final Fantasy is Square's flagship IP and it's odd they're treating this like a niche game meant only for a select few. Shit even though I wasn't happy with Nintendo's decision to sell Mario 3D All Stars only for a limited period of time, at least they shipped a fuckton of copies to pretty much every retailer in existence so it was easy to obtain during the half of year Nintendo was printing copies of it.

Also Square made this announcement around midnight on Saturday and the first batch of copies sold out in 30 minutes so the only people lucky enough to get a pre-order in quickly would have either been lucky night owls or scummy scalpers (apparently Square only took Japan into account when making this announcement as technically it was mid-day Japan time, but still).

It is worth remembering at least that all of them will be available digitally so hey there is that (plus digitally you could choose to only get the ones you really want and skip any you don't like), but I want this sort of collection on a Switch cart so I'm gonna try my luck.
