Japanese Nintendo Live event cancelled after unhinged people threaten employees and participants

Nintendo Live is a concert and tournament event Nintendo has held in Japan for years now, and a few months ago did for the first time in America thanks to a collaboration with PAX, but the 2024 Nintendo Live event that was to be held in Tokyo this coming January has been cancelled. Nintendo representatives have confirmed the reason is because of "persistent threats" directed towards employees and participants. No individuals have been named in regards to who is sending the threats, but it's very likely it's a bunch of really unhinged people using burner accounts to send threatening emails and whatnot.
