Area 51 can wait. We can see them aliens later. Right now, we need to save YouTube from itself and storm their headquarters.

Didn't you hear how badly YouTube has been behaving in recent months?

its not really that bad. Its better than the alternatives

poochyena wrote:

Yeah, but they're harming innocent channels by restricting likes and comments while they let an animal abuser who UPLOADED A FULL-RECORDED SESSION OF HER BEATING UP HER DOG get away because the police said she wasn't guilty. Like, what the fuck!?

just sounds like nitpicks to me rather than fundamental issues.

If you've been around YouTube around for a while, you'll get the idea of how farther the website is from its supporters.

Sorry if I'm trying to get the message across, but I'm pretty bad at communicating properly.

I agree, especially since YouTubers that have this site as the only way of making money being hurt even more thanks to the site's stupid features.

lmao

I know that it might not change much, but we need to take up a stand against YouTube and say "enough is enough". We've just about had it with their bullshit rules and fucking "advertiser-friendly" content.

Vimeo, Dailymotion, etc.

Yeah, but there are people that only use YouTube as a means of pushing their content to followers. It's the only way they can earn money, and I doubt these other sites might do the same.

These channels can move to PornHub for all I care unless someone at YouTube finally makes the company wake up in the present and treat their followers like intelligent human beings.

I've been on youtube since 2006. Youtube has only gotten better over the years. I think the people who say otherwise don't remember old youtube.

It's actually gotten worse with its dispute system. Don't get too joyful over the unnecessary changes.

poochyena wrote:

What do you mean?

I already told you. It's because of the way that this site handles channels by making big problems even worse, and YouTubers are getting pissed off about it.

I agree. YouTube's content moderation system is actively killing original creators and relevant content while advocating clickbait garbage and irrelevant shit in the name of advertiser money. I can't listen to music on YouTube without getting reaction videos, "music theory" videos or whatever irrelevant popular video game music/"compilation" vids shoved in my face. They really need to straighten out their website's algorithm and content policies before they alienate their own userbase.

YouTube may be the world's biggest video sharing platform right now, but that place is a time bomb waiting to spectacularly implode. And the bigger they are, the harder they'll fall – and the greater the consequences it'll have for the internet in the long term.

That's right. That's why I made the petition to finally let us show YouTube who we are. We are finally going to teach this company a lesson. November 17. That's the day we make them listen.

You are not picking. You can find issues with everything when you nitpick. Let's me know when there are systematic issues

The info's clearly there! That's the reason why YouTube has a broken system!

RaggensGameplay wrote:

My point is… we should be the ones who monitor the content, not the site itself. Give us the option to control our algorithm. Let us control what we and our children watch.

poochyena wrote:

> we should be the ones who monitor the content

You can.

>Let us control what we and our children watch.

You already do.

But it's still restricted by the fucking algorithm. Every time you search up some dumb cartoons for your kids, there's a chance they'll stumble across some weird Elsa and Spider-Man video. Plus, whatever keyword your put in will have something crazy or downright awful going on in those videos, and YouTube would go as far as demonitizing innocent channels while letting garbage ones run amok. Even with the new features, they almost never please anyone.

>Every time you search up some dumb cartoons for your kids, there's a chance they'll stumble across some weird Elsa and Spider-Man video.

If thats true, then that means its not restricted. Restricted in this context means certain videos won't show up.

>YouTube would go as far as demonitizing innocent channels while letting garbage ones run amok.

thats not by choice. This is the nitpicking i'm talking about. You can't expect any company to never make mistakes. What you are complaining about are random mistakes.

Literally, I'm talking about disconnection and lack of proper communication with the website. It's not by "accident" that these channels are being taken down. They're being taken down because of their bullshit guidelines that let other videos that break these guideline through with no punishment. Do you know last year's YouTube Rewind, the worst video of all time? That's the video to prove how people are right about the sight's disconnection with their creators, starting with people who are not even YouTubers, overuse of unpopular or dying trends (that means you, Fortnite) and not the ones that are actually important, and overall just pure cancer. That's what I'm taking about.

The problem with the site is that they don't solve the problem because they don't want to solve the problem. That's like taking a hornet's nest to take out a wasp's nest. It doesn't solve the problem, it just adds to the problem.

It's not just Youtube that's the problem. A lot of problem is also advertisers who are a bit too careful about where they want their thing to be advertised. Often, even if such content won't directly damage advertisers, they still mess things up "just to be sure".

Yeah, that's right. Give us the option to change the algorithm as we see fit. Let us choose which topics can be advertised to us. I don't wanna sit through another Undertale OST track without an ad for Lion King 2019 playing.

Kappapeachie wrote:

Honestly we should do it for real

Precisely. We'll be raiding their headquarters and force them to listen, which is why I made the petition. I know it might not work, but we have to raid them soon.

FFS dude stop using the damn term "raid". Police, and military personnel raid. Civilians don't "raid". Civilians who try to raid places only get shot at or arrested.

The idea you have in your head about what you're trying to accomplish is what's called an organized protest. That's what a sensible and realistic course of action would be.

This silly romanticized notion you have about trying to force a coup against one of the largest corporations in America is totally absurd. If you tried this in reality it'd be considered an act of terrorism.

But they won't actually help with the situations going on in their site and just make them worse on purpose so that they can make more people angry. Negativity = more revenue for them.

>It's not by "accident" that these channels are being taken down.

You are talking about specific channels again, which makes it a nitpick.

>They're being taken down because of their bullshit guidelines

Thats not a nitpick. Whats the specific guildelines you don't like?

I… Just watch on why YouTube sucks nowadays and you'll get the idea.

poochyena wrote:

Its not a good sign when you can't articulate your own views.

I know. Look… You know we've got enough of being treated like this. I know none of you want this. Letting animal abusers and child rapists roam free while innocent channels are taken down just for the word "fuck".

> Letting animal abusers and child rapists roam free while innocent channels are taken down just for the word "fuck".

Yes, because youtube is definitely the arbitrator when it comes to child rape.

poochyena wrote:

Yes, because youtube is definitely the arbitrator when it comes to child rape.

It could be foreign because YouTube cannot naturally target a channel from Arabia with nonsensical words. My point is that they need to stop fucking up their algorithm.

its propaganda. Try forming your own opinion on the matter, rather than just listening to what meme images tell you. Look at real data and official rules.

Then there are assholes that don't think anything's wrong with the site, even when all the info's there.
