Bella Hadid, birth name Isabella Khairiah Hadid, is an American model and influencer raised in Santa Barbara, California. Bella is the daughter of model Yolanda Hadid and real estate developer Mohommad Anwar Hadid. She was named Model.com's model of the year in 2016 and holds the record for most Vogue covers in a month. She has also made repeat appearances in internet memes, such as her 2017 Sneaker Interview, due to her prominence in pop culture and the fashion industry.

Career

Bella Hadid began her modeling career at the age of 16 and was signed to IMG models around the age of 18 on August 21st, 2014.^[1] She made her runway debut with Tom Ford for his Fall/Winter 2014 fashion show (shown below).^[2]

In August 2017, Hadid managed to break the record for most covers in September issues of various fashion magazines, by doing five Vogue covers, two Elle covers and a cover for Harper's Bazaar (seen below).^[3]

Personal Life

Bella Hadid was born on October 9th, 1996. In the years between 2015 to 2019, Hadid maintained a tumultuous relationship with singer-songwriter the Weeknd. ^[4] The model starred in a music video for his single "In the Night" in December 2015.^[5] The relationship received widespread media attention and was a topic of tabloid speculation.^[6]

Bella Hadid's Sneaker Interview

On October 2nd, 2017, Complex Magazine^[7] posted a video in which Bella Hadid met with video host Joe La Puma at sneaker store Kith in New York City. On YouTube, the video gained over 1.2 million views over the course of a week (shown below).

Bella's delivery of the line, "homeboy can like, get it," was deemed awkward enough to be turned into a snowclone. Twitter user @urboynico^[8] tweeted a wholesome example of the former, gaining over 450 retweets and 950 likes (shown below, left). User @couturetits^[9] tweeted a joke where Hadid's quote was applied to an episode of Spongebob Squarepants that gained over 29,000 retweets and 55,000 likes (shown below, right).

Bella Hadid At The Gas Station is a viral video and TikTok trend that features users recreating a paparazzi clip of influencer Bella Hadid at a gas station. On January 12th, 2022, TikToker^[1] @gbelxz posted paparazzi footage of Bella Hadid at a gas station in Los Angeles wearing sunglasses, a crop top and a pair of low-rise pants while talking on the phone. The post accrued 11.9 million plays and 1.8 million likes in seven months (seen below, left). On February 23rd, 2022, TikToker^[3] @ellajubilee recreated the video by pacing around while wearing sunglasses, a crop top and a pair of low-rise pants. The video contained a text overlay that also read "No one: Bella Hadid:," accumulating over 700,000 plays and 140,000 likes in five months (seen below, right).
