About

Akuma Auntie is a name given to a viral video of a woman named Tammy Hull ranting about people she calls "sacks of shit" and her local government while making cartoony facial expressions. Earning comparisons with video game and cartoon characters such as Akuma from Street Fighter, the woman became a subject of memes in mid-October 2024 and the video and images from it were humorously edited as exploitables.

Origin

On October 18th, 2024, X[1] user @MulhollandL0ver wrote, "I recently started talking to a white woman and I was lurking her socials & found her auntie’s page 😳," posting a Facebook video showing a middle-aged woman ranting about people she refers to as "sacks of shit" and the Jasper county government while making cartoony facial expressions. The video (shown below) accrued over 19.4 million views, 7,700 reposts and 54,000 likes in four days.

Sacks of shit! And no, I don't have to talk to [yous] politely. Ya, sacks of shit!
And Jasper County, motherfuckers, I'm coming for you. Yeah, motherfuckers, I'm coming for you! Hahahaha! All legal-like, yeah, legal. We'll do it on your terms, motherfuckers. Arrrgh! Our government needs stopped. Stopped.

Starting on October 18th, 2024, users on X / Twitter compared the person in the video to various video game and film characters over her expressions, with the character Akuma from the Street Fighter series being the most prevalent comparison.

For example, on October 18th, X[2] user @KevOnStage quoted the video with an image with an image of The Mask character Dorian Tyrell wearing The Mask, which received over 2,900 reposts and 19,000 likes in four days (shown below).

On October 19th, 2024, X[3] user @Rooflemonger quoted the video with a reference to Street Fighter character Akuma. The post (shown below) garnered over 1.8 million views, 3,100 reposts and 31,000 likes in three days.

The initial comparisons were followed with edits, artworks and memes based on the video. For example, on October 20th, 2024, X[4] user @Murdoink posted a Mortal Kombat edit of the video that received over 1,200 reposts and 8,700 likes in two days (shown below).
