History

On July 30th, 2016, Aaron Vankampen posted his earliest available post on Instagram. [1] The image received more than 150 reactions in less than five years (shown below).

What Do You Do For a Living Videos

On November 10th, 2020, Vankampen posted the first of his "What Do You Do For a Living Videos" on TikTok. [2] In the videos, which are sometimes referred to as "One Percent Homes," Vankampen knocks on the door of lavish homes and asks "What do you do for a living" The post received more than 5.3 million views, 850,000 reactions and 7,300 comments in less than two months.

Less than a week later, he posted another installment. The video went viral on TikTok, receiving more than 35 million views, 6.6 million reactions and 48,000 comments (shown below, right).

Several media outlets covered the account, including the Daily Mail,[3] BuzzFeed, [4] BoredPanda[5] and more.
