Aaron Vankampen, also known online at One Percent Homes, is a Toronto-based location scout known online for a series of videos in which a knocks on the doors of lavish mansions and asks the homeowner what they do for a living.
History
On July 30th, 2016, Aaron Vankampen posted his earliest available post on Instagram. [1] The image received more than 150 reactions in less than five years (shown below).
What Do You Do For a Living Videos
On November 10th, 2020, Vankampen posted the first of his "What Do You Do For a Living Videos" on TikTok. [2] In the videos, which are sometimes referred to as "One Percent Homes," Vankampen knocks on the door of lavish homes and asks "What do you do for a living" The post received more than 5.3 million views, 850,000 reactions and 7,300 comments in less than two months.
Less than a week later, he posted another installment. The video went viral on TikTok, receiving more than 35 million views, 6.6 million reactions and 48,000 comments (shown below, right).
