Aerith Chair refers to a moment in Final Fantasy VII Remake in which the character Aerith, while fighting goons with Tifa, hits one of the goons over the head with a chair. The moment has been widely parodied in image macros and video remixes since the game's release.

Origin

In a scene from Final Fantasy VII Remake, released April 10th, 2020, Tifa and Aerith team up to fight four goons while working to save Cloud. During the brawl, Aerith hits one of the goons over the head with a chair (shown below).

Spread

The moment quickly became the subject of parody shortly after the game's release. On April 11th, 2020, Twitter user @UltimaShadowX[1] posted a Bart Hits Homer With A Chair edit that gained over 900 retweets and 5,000 likes (shown below, left). On April 19th, Twitter user @starlightchi[2] posted a Bongo Cat Hitting Like And Retweet edit, gaining over 5,100 retweets and 13,000 likes (shown below, right).

The scene also inspired some video edits. For example, on April 20th, YouTuber dankguin posted a video edit of Bart Hitting Homer (shown below, left). The following day, user mycah808 posted an edit featuring a Jim Ross call (shown below, right).
