About

Appliejack is a meme used as an expression for lying, deceit, or trickery. And is sometimes linked to the "I Lied" meme, a rage comic meme used to also express lying.

Origin

The meme originated from the first episode of the second season of the Canadian/American television series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, The Return of Harmony – Part 1. In the episode, all the ponies have to gather all the Elements of Harmony again to defeat an enemy who once reigned over Equestria with disharmony named Discord. They have to go into a maze since Discord stole and hid them in there. Once Applejack is in the maze, she sees 3 apples, and they start rolling to a certain part of the maze, she follows them, and then apples from apple trees in that part of the maze start falling from the trees, the apples start rising into piles, and start talking to her, saying that they will tell her "the truth". They reveal to her a pool, showing a fake prediction of all the ponies friendship breaking up. This causes Applejack to be in disbelief, and then is drained of her color and is caused to lie by Discord.
