Origin

On March 1st, 2020, TikToker whykaden uploaded a video of the number "3" for a sound clip of someone singing over Doja Cat's "Say So" (since deleted). The video gained over 34,100 likes in two months.

Spread

On April 10th, 2020, TikToker imthefunny_friend uploaded an "I had a dream where I kissed my crush" edit using the sound clip (since deleted). The video garnered over 347,200 likes in a month.

On April 17th, TikToker come.to.the.tree uploaded a video of themself kissing a tree with small face filter and added the description "Eye lav da tré 🌳🌲🌳🌲 #areyoucomingtothetree #comingtothetree #thetree #houseoftiktok #cult #cursedtiktoks #creepy #cursed #fyp #foryou #curseyou" (since deleted). The video accumulated over 315,000 likes in three weeks.

The next day, Emma Chamberlain uploaded an edited version of the sound clip and added a dance (since deleted). The video received over 662,900 likes in three weeks.
